short and sweet:
- Brake light is on when i accelarate
- Weird buzzing noise near fuse box/kick panel area when i step on the gas
After adjusting my timing and cams (248/248) and starting the car i notice my brake light stayed on and made a buzzing noise when i press the gas. Brake fluid is full, new pads all around, 3 new rotors (my left rear is seized on but has pleanty life left). And its not my ebrake either thats causing it. i tried to sorce out as to where the noise is coming from but i cant find it, but i do know that its coming from the fuse box area near the kick panel.
*any ideas?

Are any other warning lights on?

nothing else is on. itll buzz for like 2secs when i push the gas pedal. when im driving/cruising the brake light goes away, but when i let off the gas the brake light comes on again.

Though it's not the exact symptom, I'm thinking you may have a dying alternator. The charge warning light is paralleled with the brake light and they trip together when there's low voltage output, the problems you're having sound a lot like weak output during low throttle/idle.

thats what im starting to believe...my cd deck has a volt meter reading and its always around 12.9-13.1 when running (i know it should be around 14). but ever since the buzzing thing it just jumped up to 13.5-14. i had a system in my car but ill remove the alty and get it tested. if it fails then ill look up that alternator that works for our car from some other car (forgot the name)

sorry to thread jack<3
i also have my e-brake light lit while at idle.
sometimes when i pass 2.5k rpm the buzzing and light go away.
i upgraded alternators thinking that would solve it! but no luck.
i've pulled fuses to see if some accessories are grounding out but to no avail.
so i'm basically out of ideas.
it's an 89 sohc with a quest 120amp alternator
let me know if you guys have any suggestions
thanks again

holy shit, like two weeks ago i was having the same exact problem the OP was posting. i found NOTHING while searching i don't know how i didn't stumble on this thread. i did finally deduct to either bad alternator or dying battery. coming from the exact location and the brake light was on. i though i had a short near my fuse box because there was a little moisture near that area on my carpet (will be gutting entire interior in spring). after i gave the car a tuneup and checked fuses and every single relay and contact found out it was either alternator or battery, because i charged my battery overnight and everything has been fine but it has just manifested itself again. i'm going to get my alternator rebuilt.
hope my info helps.
and maybe if someone has this same problems again in the future, i'm just gonna blurt some "keywords"
"vibrating fuse panel" "fuse box buzzing" "fuse panel buzzing" "interior buzzing"
not sure how this search engine works lol, couldn't hurt tho :)
