i finished my SR20DET swap and i started my car and my valves are very very loud, is that normal?? i drove it twice around the block and i thought that maybe once oil got into the valves it would go away but it didnt yet. Whats going on with that? Is that a normal thing for SR's? Please help..

you sure its a valvetrain noise?....is it a loud ticking noise coming from the intake side?
Did you bleed the lifters?

did you take the head apart? there are shims on the rocker arms that adjust valve clearance, if they are out of spec they will cause noise.

put them in oil and find some thing thin enough to bleed the lifters...the lifters should compress when you bleed them...there should be a hole on top the lifter and i think there was a smaller hole in that hole and then the ball bearing. So look for the thinest thing you can find to bleed them

They do it hydraulically. Oil pressure pushes up on the lifter and keeps the rocker in constant contact with the cam.
Sometimes injectors can make a ticking noise that sounds like the valvetrain. Although it's usually not very loud. Anyway bleeding the lifters is not very difficult. Just a little time consuming. The write-up in this thread is good.
