No, more like a red flag. Is this a zenki converted to a kouki? Why doesn't it have a kouki cluster? I smell zenki converted to kouki. Nice car though.

wow... i wouldnt post my car as a 97 if it wasnt a 97, the only way it would be a converted zenki is if zenkis were made in 97, which they were not...
the guage cluster is a stock guage cluster with jdm guages, so the mileage is right but the RPMs arent that accurate and the speedometer is in kmh, not mph... when i bought the car the guy already converted it to jdm, i dont know why but yea, its an authentic kouki guys...
btw what does a kouki cluster look like??? i honestly dont know LOL...

Not implying anything, just calling it as I see because there are so many zenkis converted to koukis. A good (but not always accurate) way to identify a conversion is the gauge cluster because the zenki and kouki clusters are not interchangeable and most people don't wanna go through the trouble. You have to change out the wiring harness or rewire it. Plus some zenkis are obd2 just like the 97-98 so my guess is that it's a late model 95 or a 96. Anyway, here's a pic of a kouki cluster:

Largely irrelevant as it will still say on the title of the car that the car is a 1997, not a 96, so it would be rather difficult to pass off.

Not irrelevant at all. Why would you pay kouki dollars for a converted zenki? Run the VIN to reveal the troof.

you can look on the door sill, or in the engine bay on the passenger side at that silver plate. I believe that has the production date as well. Another way to tell if its a zenki is to look at the trim, cloth is SLIGHTLY different. also, the hazard signal is different on koukis than zenkis. Dash is slightly different also IIRC..... there's super minor differences.
But, that for sure is a zenki cluster. BTW, i have a kouki cluster sitting in my bedroom, a zenki cluster in my car. I am planning on doing the wiring to swap to a kouki cluster so... anyway, good luck with the sale of the car.
oh yea, everything else in the car, pattern of rear seats and front seats and steering wheel, are kouki patterns.

I know 4 lugs arent SE, my post was in regards to the cluster, if it were a 4 lug non SE, would the cluster look similar to a zenki?

The problem with me trying to get a car is because I cannot see the pictures through the thread sometimes if they're linked through a site that the Air Force blocks (I'm in the middle east on an Air Force base right now) That being, I only get two 'morale' calls a week and the minutes for the cell phone I've got here are outrageous. $27 for 45 minutes or something like that. If I could call people and see pics of cars I think I'd already have one by now, but trying to get one before I come home is sucking. I've got less than a month though. :-D
I'm interested eightsix, sent a pm.
