I pretty new to this series and I have a newbie question.

My friend just got a hook up with some Initial D videos on CD(not DVD).  He says he has stage 1, 2, and 3.  I just wondering....

how many stages are there? or how long is the series?

i'm pretty sure that there's 3 stages.

1st stage- 26 episode series

2nd stage- 13 episode series

3rd stage- full length movie

then there's battle stage, which is just a separate thing with all of takumi's races, and no storyline.  its nothing new just all the old races. rock the initial d.

Battle Stage is essentially the ENTIRE series condensed into 1 DVD. they explain the entire plot in writing and show all the battles, including the FD3S/Evo4 battle which wasn't shown before. also, in Battle Stage, Ryosuke is mispelled "Lyosuke".

plus, there is Extra Stage featuring the Sileighty. this one takes place during the 1st Stage after the AE86/Sileighty battle. thur's a pink SW20 in it and i'm torn between <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'> or <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'> towards it.

lastly, 3rd Stage is more like 4 episodes that they just hashed together.

That's correct, there are 3 regular stages plus the Bonus stage and the Battle stage. I wouldn't suggest watching the battle stage before the rest of the series because you loose the whole story, which is lame but entertaining. Watch the Sil Eighty Story (Bonus Stage) between Stage one and Two, although that is not exactly where it actuall takes place.

Battle stage also had a lot of the animations redone and some new races not shown in the regular series. All it is though is one race after another, no story, which is a lot of fun to watch after the whole series. <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

theres one million stages.


in the year 2075, there is a worldwide tofu shortage and takumi must deliver to everyone on earth within 36 hours or humankind is doomed. along the way, he faces many people who want to steal his thunder and bring poison tofu to the people, and takumi must race with them in order to give the people of earth the non-poison tofu so that they may all live happily ever after. &nbsp;quite riveting. &nbsp;luckily for him, the AE86 trueno is the fastest car in the world...ever...even a type-R can't beat it.

There is a Playstation Initial D game (kinda old) and a new arcade one called Arcade Stage.

yea i was talkin about the Arcade game. its alright made by SEGA. u can buy a save card and when u earn points money or watever u can buy stuff for ur car and save it on that Initial D card thought that was pretty koo..but wat if cards run out <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':cry:'>

From what I understand, Stage 4 has already been released in Japan but only on TV. As soon as it's on DVD, I'll have rips of it. <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':alien:'>
