Keyless entry has absolutely nothing to do with the ASCD. Two completely different systems.
Alright, so would any manual 96 KA ASCD control unit work? What about 97/98KA

Can anybody help out?
Thanks

Any 95-98 ASCD unit will work.
But before we go on, since you've brought up questions about the keyless entry, do you know what the ASCD is, and where it goes?
I know where it goes, I'm pretty sure it controls the fuel pump, cruise control..etc...
so a 95 OBD-I ASCD will work on a 96 OBD-II ?
Thanks TurK

ASCD stands for Automatic Speed Control Device.
it is nothing more then a vacuum pump and electronics to control that pump, that holds the throttle open to maintain a cruise speed. It is ONLY the cruise control.
Check the FSM that oughta help out.
So should my car still start w/ out an ASCD? Because is not and we think this is why.

There is no OBD-I and OBD-II ASCD unit, they're all the same. It controls nothing more than the cruise control actuator and operating system. Removed it's just a dead plug, nothing else is affected. Base 95-96 cars aren't even prewired for cruise.
The fuel pump is controlled through the ECU only. Black/pink control wire to the relay, black/yellow feed to the pump.
Thanks for the info man....Now im wondering why the car is not starting....
