I know a lot of you have been following the VIR thread and I know that Dave has already committed to Summit Point, but I thought I'd pass along info on that too.

Weekend is Nov. 2-3.
Cost is $289 for both days.
Location is Summit Point, WV - near Charles Town (not Charleston). On the main track.
It is a NASA event, so membership is required. I'm too lazy to link to the website, but there aren't any cool pics either
While not as glamorous as VIR, SUmmit is a solid track that is excellent for beginners. It has an easy to follow line. Run off room where you need it (mostly). Decent facilities. And PLENTY of room to improve your driving.

As with VIR, NASA is running the show so you get classroom and track time. PLUS, you get to watch some really exciting racing when you are not doing school or track.

Summit is about 1-1.5 hrs. from DC and can easily be reached from MD, PA, VA, DC, NJ, OH, and WV. Those travelling farther will be travelling farther.

If you didn't go to VIR b/c it was a bad time or too far away, this is your chance to see how good of a driver you really are. (you'll be surprised! ).

Hope to see some of you there! Mark

Hmmmmmmmm...

Ah, screw it, I only get to be young and rich once, I'm signing up for this one too Hey, I won't even have to stay overnight for Summit Point - it's less than an hour for me, provided 270 North isn't tied up (and it shouldn't be at 0dark:00 on weekends).

Anyone willing to donate their driveway for a weekend afternoon so I can change pads and rotors? I decided to keep my old ones for VIR, they're almost brand new, might as well burn them off the fun way.

WV is a little far for me right now.. so I'm gonna have to skip this one. VIR will probably be the last track event of the year for me.. I need to save my money to get back in school, and finish all the things I want to do to the 240 before next years racing starts.

Excellent. Didn't think we'd see you Charles. But that's cool - most of us didn't make LMS either.

That's the spirit Ryan. That's exactly what I thought... there probably won't be another event until at least Feb. Might as well. Summit will likely be the last track the 240 sees, too

And I'd offer my driveway - but I don't have one. I'll be changing my front pads at the InnKeeper parking lot
