really? with godaddy i've always paid for the domain ($10) and two months of hosting ($8) and then starting on the 3rd month, $4 a month

so $18 up front.

Most hosting companies prefer that initial lump sum over a contract rather than a month-month income.

The only company that comes to mind with a monthly service is DreamHost. However, just like TV or phone services...they include a one-time setup fee.

With cPanel fantastico, blah blah. Godaddy and the like suck. Trust me go to web designer forums and see what they go with. Fantastico gives you pre-installed scripts so you can have a forum, blog or whatever set up in seconds. Just throwing this out, I don't make any money on this, that is why I don't advertise anymore, make it on web design and hosting packages. 2 months free cancel anytime.
