Economy taking a shizz??

deng. so all i'm hearing about on the news is about the economy and the primary elections... some economic analyst said that the economy will be so bad in the near future that we're gonna wish that we were living through the Great Depression instead. what do y'all think?
--personally, i think that all these predictions should be censored to some extent so as not to instill fear in the general public. imagine all the negative effects that could occur?? for starters-----hyperinflation = no money to drift

In general the media will talk about anything to get people's attention away from real issues around election time.
Personally I think it would be easy to bring back a strong American economy. Step one; subsidize American industry. Step two; raise the tariff on all imported organic goods and manufactured items. Step three; Crack down on unfair monopolies(AT&T) and those with unfair business practices(Walmart).

If these three things were done more Americans would have jobs. This would allow them to purchase more from other Americans(i.e.farmers/manufacturers). Lastly those employed would have better benefits and a more likely ability to be self sufficient.
More would need to be done but that would be a huge step forward.
