I have a s14 and i want to now if 17x9 +17mm offset will fit on a stock suspension? Do i need spacers?

i think they will fit because i have read some forums that make me believe they will fit, but i just want to be sure before i buy them because they are a really good price.

You definitely won't need spacers, they'll stick out far enough as it is. Whether or not you'll need a minor fender roll is the question.

Hell yea they will..... I have put 17x9 +10 on a S14 and it fit good.

Just roll.

It's easier to clear stock shocks compared to coilovers.

Buy them, unless they are fake.

i was worried that they would hit the factory shock/strut assembly. are you telling me that my actual problem is that they will stick out to far and i may have to roll the fenders?

yes thats exactly what they are telling you. the suspension will not be the issue, the fender/lip will be the area of attention.

cool.....thanks guys. i'll post up pics after i get them

Your shock/strut won't be the problem. The offset on your stock wheels is something like +40. +17 means it's a lower offset, so it will sit further away from the shock.

Can't tell you *exactly* how far away your wheel will be from the shock because I'm not certain how wide stock S14 wheels are, or what offset they are. But, let's say the 9.5s are 3 inches wider. So at the same offset, you're looking at ~1.5 more inches of wheel on the shock/strut side. But the offset is 20 to 25mm lower, so the whole thing will be pushed that much further out.

This is all an estimation, so go do the math if you want to be really sure =P But chances are, you'll have about the same clearance on your shocks/struts and ~3 more inches of wheel to deal with when it comes to your fenders.

I have 17x9 CR Kais in +17 offset on an S14 with Tein SuperStreet coilovers....clear the coiloivers fine...

Rolled the fenders so that the tire wouldn't rub on severe compression stroke

I think they fit perfectly to be honest....

here is an example of 18x9.5 with a +28mm offset. note: pics taken w/o battleversion RUCA or any adjustment to stock RUCA

^ wow that sticks out a ton....are you sure on the size...?

18x9.5 +28 should stick out the same as (anything)x9 +22

However, my 17x9s +17 dont stick out anywhere that much....it looks like if you lowered it the rim would hit the fender

If its a real 9.5j at that offset, that should be hitting if not close to hitting coilovers.

hahahhaha thats bc you are at monster car height

Everyone says they have no clearance problems on these 9.5 +15 or whatever offsets, but if you lower the car a bit, you will rub most certainly

now remember premie..... they said stock suspension. so ride height will be higher compared to coilovers, or even springs!

true true....but having the car so high that the tire couldn't hit no matter what doesn't count as "no clearance problems" as far as I am concerned

who gives a shit about the body, that doesn't count.
if it hits the susp, thats the problem.

weaksauce, but okay...
you can't do anything about clearing suspension, trying to fit the wheels around the fender is where the fun is

i'm not trying to jack the thread but I just want to ask something bc I have a similar question.

Will RPF1 17x9 +35mm all around OK for S13 hatch without the need to roll/pull fender or hit suspension/KTS coilover?

I'm planning to run 235 tire. thanks guys

This thread is useless, and unhelpful to people that don't really understand wheel fitment...

People are posting setups with wide ass wheels but monster truck ride height...gives noobs or people not familiar with wheel fitment a false sense of security...

If you guys really want to help out, take a picture of the gap between the coilover/shock and inner wheel lip....

Fuck

This is the only decent pic I have right now....

This is the rear right wheel...again TEIN Super Street coilovers, 17x9 +17mm with a 245/40/17 tire...

Outside pic:

http://makingapril.com/greg/justin/kitfinal/9s.JPG

SO that shows that inside, I look like I have at least an inch or more of clearance, and on the outside, it speaks for itself....

I totally agree with you. I will try and get some pictures of the gap between the shock and the inner wheel lip. From what I remember, there's plenty of room in between there. And in my defence, my car was only at that height for like a month, not even. And that's because my coils fukked up on me. And I only posted because the original poster asked if they would fit on stock suspension. I would never willingly drive my car the way it looked in those pictures. haha.

here is what the clearance of an s13 looks like with Volk CE28N 18x9.5 w/+28mm, no spacers and 2deg. neg camber. The fender has been rolled but to the extent of being flat against the inside of the fender in effort to get close to the desired 1.5deg. neg camber. Other components include tein flex suspension, battleversion ruca & z32 brake/hub assembly.

enjoy...

^Finally somebody does something worthwhile in this thread.....

SO for anyone who may be confused....

For INSIDE clearance.....the above picture shows a 9.5 wide +28 wheel

The INNER clearance is the same as:

10" +22
9" +34
8.5" +41
8" +47

You get the point....this is for S13 btw

Pank

The fender has not been rolled but the inner lip has been flattened against the inside of the fender

Thats what a roll is, you haven't PULLED them yet.

+1 for the post, though

i know its kinda pointless to say this now, but in the next two weeks I will take pictures of my lowered s14 with 18x9.5 +22 front and rear with 265/35/18 tires.

I have that on my rears now, but Im going to see what kind of restrictions I have on the front with this same setup, thinking at worst a roll and a thinner tire, so we will see.

car is on agx/sportlines and if your curious the rear only needed a roll with stock suspension arms and camber.

here's how it looks now:
http://www.photodump.org/stored18/Nopi129a.JPG

Yes thats a dent above the wheels, current specs:

235/40 18x8.5+30 fronts
265/35 18x9.5+22 rears
agx/sportlines, stock suspension arms and camber

Fronts are definitely okay....

Rears you are gonna wanna roll and pull, but you will prolly be okay....

who you talking to? if its me, I already have those wheels at those specs on my car, all it required was a roll on the rears to clear the tires...i will be trying out the 18x9.5+22 rear wheels on the front with the 265/35 to see what changes I have to do to get it to fit, I will post pictures for those interested

I call roll the fenders with a fender roller. what do i use to pull the fenders out?

fliprayzin240sx
01-09-2008, 06:33 PM
You can use the fender roller to give it a pull. The catch is the more aggressive the pull, the more likelier your gonna chip the paint. Then S13 rear fenders have a tendency to bow in above the area youre pulling, when you pull too hard, atleast on the hatchbacks.

jspaeth
01-09-2008, 07:20 PM
^ Heatgun will help a little with the paint not chipping, just be gentle when you pull...don't pull straight out!!!!

Always pull on an angle while you are rolling, so you don't buckle the metal or whatever
