I'm excited for them to come out, actually. If they weigh less than 3500lbs (doubtful) and have 400hp (they def will), and cost less than $30k, it could possibly handle well and give the Mustang/350z market a much-needed run for it's money. As a Chevy fan, I was crushed in '02 when they stopped making Camaros... cause Mustang's suck :)

It's SUPPOSED to look retro! You don't build a muscle car and put a plush interior in it. It's a throwback. You don't strap on a pair of classic Chuck Taylor's and complain that the insoles don't have a gel insert, do you?

The car in tansformers was the ONLY 09 camaro GM had built. It wasnt a GTO.

The picture of the interior is a test mule interior, It wont look exactly like that when its in production.

Looks 100x better than the mustang, but the challenger is giving the camaro a run...

It's still a prototype....and the "money shot" has yet to be shown...which is the front end.

The same goes for the interior....the layout is essentially final, but not the fit and finish.

I mean S-Chassis have such stylish interiors.

I'm 50/50 on the new Camaro Concept. Sometimes I think it looks good, other times I don't. It certainly doesn't look good in white. I can't afford one anyways but if I could, I'd rather get a Challenger.

The Camaro is much better than the Mustang because for the first time it has irs, but nobody knows if the side gills/vents are functional??? I don't think Chevy will tell me on their site!

The originals were not, so I doubt these are. It is a styling cue, not a performance enhancer.

The Classic Camaro's had them cut into the panel, like the current Camaro, but were also available trimmed in chrome.

It's completely possible that the vents are functional. On the last generation Camaro (F-body), all the vents were functional, whereas on that generation Mustang, none were - it was a big "performance vs styling" war, and Chevy has ALWAYS sided on performance.

That, and the Z06s have had functional side vents since 01 :)

Cause Bumble Bee was still a concept car. As you know, not all of the styling cues from a concept can make it into production. GM has done a pretty good job over-all of staying true to the concept.

To me i think that the car is a little too high waisted. I agree that the white was a bad photo and i do like the others however. Im 5'8" and sitting in a 350Z i felt dwarfed sometimes becuase the doors were so tall. Looking at the camaro it seems that the effect would be greater than the 350Z. I think i would feel too tiny in the car my .02

The new Malibu is a fantastic car. Look at my post about it in that Ford thread.

The Impala was supposed to go to the Zeta platform, but now with the new CAFE standards, GM said they'll have to keep it FWD. Sucks.

Thats why I personally LOVE the new Chally. Its like the ultimate resto-mod Challenger... But with a far better chassis, and all the cool new technology.

Imagine the new Challenger with an LS7 or LS9... Mmmmmm, yummy.

When you take away...

-aluminum accented and functional rear fender vents
-lower offset wheels
-slightly wider rear fenders
-the menacing stance
-the sharper lines
-the scalloped grill
-the slits for the signal/parking lights
-the sculptured side mirrors

...you make the car dull.

I'm not sure if this will happen due to CAFE standards, but rumor has it that the next GTO will be based on this platform. Also the design will be retro, yet modern as well. There was a conceptual drawing from GM, but I can't find it. :/

Chevy disgusts me. At least they kept the Corvette's design moving forward, I don't understand why American companies like GM, Ford, and Dodge are moving BACKWARD with designs and models, like the Camaro, Mustang, Charger, Challenger and the like.

I have not seen Nissan do this, even when bringing the Z back, it's more modern than retro.
