I was quoted a price of 900(tops) for the auto-manual swap. I trust the guy because he is a good friend of one of my good friends. I was just wondering if this would be the normal cost or if someone around here would do it for cheaper.

Install is more complicated than just swaping two manual transmission....you have to add a master and slave cylinder, clutch mounts etc.....if you can find someone to do it for 200-300 that is way way to low for a conversion

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA . slave is mounted on the tranny . brackets already exist for clutch lines. the inside drivers firewall already has the guides in place for the bolts for the clutch master, just have to drill them. Also the outline for the hole for your clutch master is there you just drill, cut and hang clutch pedal. Brake pedal, the easiest thing to do is just cut down the size of the auto brake pedal to the size of a manual with a dremel tool.
That part is easy to do on your own because its just time not grunt work.
I can get all the grunt work done at my friends transmission shop in Commerce for $250 done!!! go ahead and doubt me thats fine . I am doing it and he would do it for other people and he has quite a bit of auto to manual swap experience . PLus he installed an RB25 into a 95 240sx . #### clean job too!. His work is top knotch and this is Socal labor is cheap . Yes i can sell all the parts needed including clutch and slave and pedals for $475.

drift (dave),
Since you got the hookup on the install labor, I may just drive down and pay you a visit this summer.
