I already did a search on this but I didn't come up with anything.
I am doing a auto to manual swap in a 1993 240sx. I finished everything that includes bolting up... I am on the wiring part now. But I am not sure what wiring I need to do?
Could you guys tell me what wiring is needed if I use a manual ECU and a Auto ECU? (I am not sure what I want to use... I want to use whatever is easiest to wire up.)
Will my check engine light come on with the auto ECU?
Thanks alot guys. I really appreciate it this, cause I really need it. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Come on guys.... I really need help on this...
I think the wiring of a s14 and s13 are totally different.
I know you have to connect the wires from the top connecters on the back of the fuse box to start the car. I did so and the car didn't start.
Plus.
You also have to wire the first connector on the tranny to the third connector on the fuse box (with the green and black wires) to make the reverse lights come on. I did so and turned the car on put it in reverse and when to the back of the car. NOTHING!
These were all instructions gathered for S14s...
Are the wiring procedures different from S14s and S13s? Please at least answer me this question.
Where are the procedure for a s13?
Thanks guys... I really need the help.

well i swapped out from auto to 5 spd on my 99 sr20de sentra all i had to rewire was the inhibitor switch. everything else was just replacing the sensor with one for a manual tranny, like speed sensor and crank sensor (which i also had to extend the wire for)
i also wired in a nice theft cut off switch yusing the inhibitor switch that is hidden pretty damn well.
i am also running the auto ecu you shouldnt have a problem and the wirirng is not much if any, may be slighty.
or maybe you can just ask geeaj who just did his swap <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Alright...
CampPain Thanks man. I think what you already told me helped out. I think I am making progress.
What wiring did you do to your inhibitor switch in your sentra, campain?
I've been stabbing in the dark on this.... which I think is pretty dangerous to do.
I look at the inhibitor harness and connected the to ends together. I hooked something up to the starter (that I think/hope according to the FSM is suppose to hook up to the starter)
And the car cranked for a 1 second. Whoo hoo. But then the everything died and the light no longer came up on my dash. So I checked all the fuse and everything was good. So I unhooked the battery took the plugs off the top connector on the back of the fuse box( revolution sensor) (which I did if you read above) and tried to crank it again. I hear a click and it seems the battery is dead now. But when I turn the key I hear a continuing clicking... is this normal?
I will try this again later with a good battery...
Help what do I need to do?

the clicking happened to me, but campign is right. i talked to my mechanic and he said that he needed the inhibitor relay off the auto trans in order to complete the swap. he is using the auto hatness also. but he said he'll have it running by wednesday. i cant wait. ill try to find out anything i can to help you cuz no one helped me, except JR, who tried to help, and i know how it sucks. my car hasnt been running for 2 months.. but ill have her back on wednesday. ill ask him exactly what he did.....if you cna wait till then, then ill try to help as much as possible cuz not having a car sucks.

ok you can run the auto ecu your check engine light will not come on because its OBDI . If it was OBDII it would come on.
Next thing is there is a relay in your main fuse box in your engine compartment on the right hand side right between your battery and strut tower. There is a switch relay in that box that effective tells your computer that your tranny is in park and allows it to start . All you have to do is loop a wire in the that relay and then run a ground from it and your car will start. It grounds the relay and makes it think its seeing an auto tranny in park.
This does work . I have outlined this before and I told driftmonkey this . I do not know why he could not get it to work. Its been done on so many cars that have been converted here in california I have lost count.
We seem to like doing auto to 5 speed swaps here because its easier to find a clean automatic 240 than a 5 speed.
In fact I just got my second 91 auto because it was a LE with 92k and one owner and it omly cost me 2k <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the help. Actually, everything I have discribed above already gotten the car to start. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> All I did was reconnect the starter and connect the two wire on the inhibitor harness under the fuse box. (turns out the battery was dead after all) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
DriftMonkey: thanks for the help. Why do you need the harness off the tranny?
drift freaq: Thanks for the help
CampPain: Dude!!! you helped out alot. Appreciate it.
