High Speed Chase Totals My Car

so on jan 1st i go to my friends house and hear a knock on his door and it turns out to be my friends neighbor saying i think someone hit your friends car ...so we run outside and stare at a flipped car smashed into the side of mine..and behind 20 police cars with guns drawn at the 3 guys stumbling out.....i just bought the car couple months ago as a daily and started to throw some stuff on ..put the kit on a week ago..pretty sure insurance is going to call it totaled...i took tons of pics will post later of up close damg. what a great way to start off the new years :)

South LA -- A surprise end to a pursuit in South LA on 223rd and Normandie Tuesday night. Two men suspected in a possible shooting in custody after a high speed chase. The suspects lost control and crashed into a parked car before rolling and flipping over. No one was hurt.too bad the people in the SUV didnt die....

Also, the hood looks fucked up from the video.I see the 240 hit the car behind it (so say either ziptie the bumper together or replace that as well since its the other person's fault) but the hood wasn't hit (atleast not visibly form the camera angle that is used), I think thats a shadow.

If insurance screws you, which they might, sue the police dept. I didn't watch the video but most police chases are pointless on the ground and they could have easily followed by helicopter to wherever the guy is going. Just an idea to a fellow Nissan guy so you come out on top.

only have 2 pics from phone...talked to the insurence they came to check it out and tell me i mite be totalled because the cost to fix is to much ..so i asked if i could help by donating parts to put on the car( which i have laying around) to make it cheaper they said they would get back to me to see how much it would cost just to fix the rear quarter panel and engine bay is a lil smashed sorry but other pics still on homgrls camera will try to get asap.also have short video my friend took walking around the whole scene..i think its bs i have to pay for shit any suggestions on what i can do??

I'm not totally sure, but I think there is something about property damage that is caused by police chases. You might want to get some legal advice on the subject to see what they owe you ;)

HAHA! WOW!! Sorry about that but I know your pain. My car was involved in a very similar situation back in October. My car was parked outside my house one night (as it usually is) while I was at my cousin's birthday party who happens to live a few houses up the street. We were all getting drunk in the house when a few of us decide to go to the front yard to have a cigarette.

All of a sudden we hear tires screaching coming from the direction of my house and BAM car runs into one of the cars parked outside my house. Three guys run out of the car and head down the street. Cop was on the scene immediately (he had just started the pursuit a minute before the accident). We go over to the house and there's a Toyota 4Runner on top of my sister's Lexus. The car was also smashing up against my car and my car had smashed into the back of another party-goer's Accord.

My car was totaled by my insurance company and although I only had liability, I also had uninsured motorists coverage as well. The insurance company gave me the max allowable under my policy which wasn't much but it was more than what I bought the car for. My sister was even more fortunate because she was planning to sell her car for far less than what her insurance paid out.

BTW, the guys who crashed into our cars were wanted for stealing the 4Runner earlier that night, then held up 2 different people, killing one in the process. Fortunately they did not go into my house or was there anybody outside on my porch at the moment.
