Sunshade is a big yes yes yes

Use meguiars. this is what I use, it has UV protection & does not leave a nasty ass gloss to it:

I've used it 2 or 3 times before, haven't had any problems yet. I'd say it's pretty decent.

Even so, I wanna hear what others have to say about it.

That shit sucks, and has been proven to CRACK dashes.

I used the FOAMING MEGUIARS and my dash is STILL glossy and shiny.

the same thing with eagle one as armor all i wouldnt advise using it if you dont plan on reapted usage. i used eagle one for like a year and half with no problems. but this summer with my car having some problems i neglected to wash it over the summer and thus not putting on the vinyl protectant and my dash has a crack now. but eagle one works decently as long as you keep using it..lol.

http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/dash.html#armorall

Not proof, but more than speculation.

Just google it if you really want to know.

By bringing the oils of the vinyl up to the top of the dash, it causes the dash to actually become brittle and more susceptible to cracking.

Well if there' one thing I've never had a problem with, it's a wet paper towel. Works every time.

And I would never use Armor All in my interior, especially on my dash or if I had leather seats.

Amorall is a great product if you have a new car but it will crack dashes that are 10 years or older.

I would suggest Meguiars or Mothers for any year 240SX.

If you can find it, 3M has some great lether/vinyl products as well.

I always had a tiny crack in my dash and Meguairs kept it from spreading. Then i got lazy for a while and used Armor All just cuz thats what my dad had at the house and i didnt feel like driving to the store to get more of my stuff....and yeah, the crack was huge within 2 weeks. Fuck armor all.

As much as everyone hates ArmorAll.... I have to say the best stuff I've used on a dash is the ArmorAll Extreme Tire Wet Gel. It comes in an orange bottle. Use it with the applicator for the tires. About 10 minutes after applying it, it is ridiculous. AND, it doesn't leave that greasy feeling. Just shines like a MOFO.

Put me down for 303 as well. Gives a nice shine, but is not extremely glossy. Another plus, is that it's earth friendly. For the cost it's not that bad, because it doesn't take a lot to do all of my door panels, trim, and dash. meguiars is one of the quality off the shelf car care companies. Theyre stuff is like lotion so it keeps the dash moistened, for lack of better words, so that it prevents drying which will then lead to cracking.

However, none of this stuff will keep your dash from cracking alone. The sun does horrible things to the foam and vinyl, so buy a sunshade before you buy dash care products. That's where the most protection comes from.
