I searched a bit, but couldnt figure out exactly what i was looking for. Mods feel free to move this if its in the wrong section...
I sold my reclineable Recaro SRD recently because of the cage thats going in, in a couple monthes, and also because it was a bitch to fit in with a helmet. I want to get a new fixed bucket with some Super-Low seat rails, or the lowest available to me. But my questions are this:
Are there some fixed bucket seats that sit lower than others? (Zeta vs. SPG vs. Garage Thrash etc)
What brackets are easily available that will fit on a Recaro SPG?
Of the mid-priced Bride Fixed buckets, what does everyone use and reccomend?
Thanks in advance.

get thr FG bride rails. I have the Fo type and want to go lower but still have enough room with a helmet. the FO seems to just be like a stock height rail to me. Thats with a bride zeta II and i am 5'10

I have a zeta III with a bride fg rail and it holds perfectly.
Have a spg, same, hold without drama.
Spl's seat the use to sell worked great.
Panda Garage is the place to hit up for a seat though.
Their stuff/business is legit.
Aside from the bride fg, only other rail i'd suggest is the "Nagisa D-lock" rail.

Ok, cause i'm thinking im gonna go with the Recaro Profi SPG. That is the seat that all the knock off companies design after, and its FIA approved. I dont mind spending a little extra to get a nicer seat that will look better, and feel better for longer. So i can get some Bride or Nams super low rails that will fit on the SPG fine, correct?
Anyone have any experience with Bride Vios III?
I use Wisteria rails on a Chargespeed bucket.
My butt sits about 2" off the carpeting.

See, i have an un-usually long torso though for my height. Im 5'10, but have a 22" torso (the average for someone 6'1"-6'4").
So i need it to be as low as absolutely possible.

Any side mount rail with multiple mounting holes will be fine. SPG is the greatest seat ever made...
I've sat in many a Bride and they hurt my ass, I've sat in Charge Speed and they hurt my balls... Never had a problem with an SPG though.

I use Artis Navi III with Nagisa Low rails.
My only complaint is the seat rail only has one locking side. Cool for adjusting while on the move, but it has a little play in it that's annoying on hard launches, or hard braking.
I'm 6'1" or so.

as long as you get a normal size seat, you should be able to get it low. If you have a big ass, then getting the seat to fit between the rails is a no go.
I have a recaro pole position and tried it was the nagisa d lock. It fits but the rails doesn't sit completly right. The seat is just too wide so I will be making a custom bracket with no sliders.

I have a Bride Zieg II with bride rails in my s14. it sits stupid low. I love it. I'll be getting more of our Panda Garage seats in in the next month or so. Those sit low with bride rails as well.

I made my own brackets.
hammered the cat hump down.
The ears are about 3-4in below the window sill, I like it. cant see the headlights when they're up i sit so low. its pretty fair enough.

im 6 4 and i had the same issue your having.
my seat is a non adjustable alluminum seat no cushion but i have it bolted straight to the ground. helmet clears and keeps me seated.
if you want details just let me know ill take some pics and look for the site where i bought the seat.

Yea, im pretty thin too. Like 5'10 @ 155 as well. But when im sitting down, i might as well be 6'3 because of my akwardly long torso.

I have both Bride and Nagisa rails. To be honest, they're both crap due to the design of the car.
I have non-reclineable Kirkey intermediate roadrace buckets. If you're over 6' you will hit your head with helmet on. There's no escaping it.
The only way to get the lowest possible position is to cut out the floorboard and weld in a flat floorboard and brace, similar to the DSG car that usually posts in Chat.

I have a Kirkey with custom mounts for my roadrace car - my butt is right on the floor.
I've done lots of the same research, and was planning on doing a Momo Start2007 for the Drift/Street car. It's a bit more civilized than the Kirky and sits very low since it is a side mount. Plus it's a pretty good deal at around $300 for a real FIA seat.

I love it.
I can't see my hood being all ghetto and bouncing around since the stops/latch is adjusted bad.
forces you to think further ahead of the car.
the pedals are higher than the bottom of the seat, feels really cool after you get used to it.
The only issue is my steering wheel won't go quite as low as I want, everything is apart now so Im just gonna take some spare spacers from my SPL outters and space the column down a bit.
I geuss also you can't jump into a car with a seat that low and know where the front wheels are. its like a viper/vette, you kinda just guess and figure it out trial and error.
Im 6ft btw.
I'd go lower and further back if I didn't have to fuck with the pedals and shit.
I've been wanting an SPG for a while now... They're amazing; go for it. If i can just stop blowing up KA's, maybe I'll be able to afford one soon...:rawk:
