Auto Tranny Help

help! i have an auto tranny in my car and it shifts freely from park to anyother gear with out pushing in the brake or the button on the shifter itself, any ideas on what could be wrong with it, and this problem is keeping the key from being released from the ignition.

Take off center console see if the the thing coming from the dash is connected... Should be connected to the shifter.

If it turns out to be the cable shifter thingy that connects to the key lock I think I have one left from my 5spd swap you can have. Just pay for shipping.
