A moonroof doesn't have glass and a sunroof does. As far as the other questions, I can't help.

actually, that's not quite right... A moonroof is another name for an internal sliding sunroof. Ford coined the term.

I think moonroofs usually don't open or only lift up but dont' slide back. Sun roofs can do both.

A moonroof will slide back, but a sunroof only lifts up. My moms 98 200sx has what Nissan called a dual electic moonroof/sunroof, it can both lift the back or slide all the way back into the roof.

yeah the s14s have that, they "vent" or go between the roof and headliner

On the s13 hatch, the only way to make it a moonroof is to rig it to slide out on top of the car (a la Saturn SC2). There physically isn't enough room for it before it hits the rear window internally.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I always thought that the glass was the difference.

for my 2 pennies, i'm pretty sure a moon roof is just a sun roof, but made from glass, so you can see throught it. a moon roof can do all that a sun roof can do. usually under a moon roof there's a sliding gismo, that blocks out then sun when you don't want it.

would someone put power on a hatchback? cause i think i saw one.
some one told me that it's not that much of a deal since the glass is the same size.
