a couple guys just got fired, and the rumor is they're going to be testing everybody.

was your test hair, urine, or blood?

The job I have now doesn't do drug testing. I think they figure if they did, they would lose 95% of their workforce.

most places drug policy is you can get fired if you get caught with drugs at work or if they believ your on drugs while youre there....if they test you and it shows that you have trace amounts I dont think they usually do anything...and i think they test for everything but rarely fire people for drugs like weed...unless u work at a hospital or something

my understanding is most mass drug screenings are urine, which would be a non issue, FOR ME. i think half of my coworkers would be out on the street if they did urine, much less hair.

only drug test ive ever taken have been urine. if its urine you can buy fake piss and a bunch of other stuff to pass the test

I dont think you can random drug test in most corps.. unless you sign for it, or theres reason to believe. ex if your a driver- crashing, or messing up real bad etc

i've had a hair test as an entrance qualification. my hair was too short so they took armpit hair. the lady just cut a chunk out, no folicles, so the test had to be in the strand. nothing once i started working. another job (home depot) would only test you if you crashed a forklift or something.

in the military, the Air Force at least, has random piss tests, though they always seem to notify you as you are leaving the bathroom. i've been hit twice in three years i think. some people seem to be in there every 6 months.

I got a simple solution, either don't do drugs or find a job that doesn't test for it. Even if you get busted, it was probally some job that you didn't really want anyways because if you did, you would follow their policies.

I don't know how CA fucked you, but you can't just get fired for drugs in your system here. My ex co-worker was caught on a random drug test and was sent to AA and drug tested for twice a month for 6 months. He became my ex co-worker when he failed his last test that was not random. In CA I believe your employer must try to get you help for your "problem" first, but if you don't take the help then they can fire you. It's kind of like how your boss can't fire you for being late just once, he must first prove that he follow proper corrective action.

Not always true. In my job I have to follow OSHA and D.O.T. laws. Those are Fed laws that are higher than state laws. Even If I had the card and "state" legal perscription I can still lose my job for drugs. Thats also why a local cop wont do anything to you if you have the card, but a Fed agent can.

From what a buddy of mine told me, getting the card is a pain and he gave up half way through.

But when i got hired at my last job they did a hair test on me and some how i passed. Actually i probably failed, but apparently the didnt care and hired me anyways. I was so scared i wasnt going to get the job and i got a call, which they told me i was hired and started the next monday.


But when i worked at channel 10 (Local PBS station), no drug test. Probably like what raven said, if they would have, 90% of the workers would be gone. I remember my boss pulled all of us out of the master control room for a smoke session lol.

We all were working and he comes in, "Cmon guys, time to take care of business" The dude was in his 50's too.

I miss that job.
