Can anybody tell what could be the problem? and what is NOx(ppm)? It seems the standard is 1258 and i got 3248, and the second one is 1378 and i got 3391.
I got K&N cone filter, magnaflow muffler, and pacesetter header. I hope the cheap header is not the problem.

It's time to pay someone off....o wait, that's illegal.

thanks a lot for the reply, I guess I need a mechanic to check my car.

I dont know anything about those numbers, but did they tell you spefficely what may be wrong with the car?

They didn't tell what was wrong with it. The guy just said that it might need a tune-up, but i don't think so because i take care of my car.
I've been searchin about NOx and it means oxide of nitrogen. I'm thinking it might be the E.G.R. (exhaust gas regulation) valve, or any other valve but i don't know. I have to get it checked out.

i have the same prob with my car it cause of all the mods the car runs to richdont ask me hot to fix cause i have some one on the inside so i dont have to run on the dyno all i have to pass is the idle test and i just pass that

That figure is Nitrongen monoxide parts per million. I dont know if its the headers but I have the same one and havent had a problem with passing emissions with it. Id say just get it checked out. May be another problem so Id have it checked out.

did you replace the airbox resonator with a breather filter? Or did you run a tube/hose to the air intake? That supposedly has something to do with emissions.
Other than that, I guess make sure you're not leaking oil or anything...
I can't see headers affecting exhaust, but they may, in some strange way.
Did you plug in all sensors/hoses when you got the new exhaust, or is it just a cat-back?

What happens when you don't pass emmissions? We don't have it here, thank god. =)

just curious... I mean, can you pay a fine and keep driving?

isn't that ppm = particle per cubic meter ?
NOx (ppm) basically means the density of NOx ( pollutant ) in the atmosphere , right ?

Best solution without all the hassles is to just gather all your friends and ask each and everyone of them if they have any connections/hookups to any smog check stations. Oh you might want to check your catlatic converter.

I think your right on that. I think it means parts per million but the context is for something different.

And yes you can only have so many particles of Nitrous Monoxide coming out of you exhaust since that is a nasty biproduct after the chemical reactions inside the combusion chamber.

Check your oxygen sensor

thanks for all the replies.
I already passed the emission test. It was running too hot, so the mechanic decrease the timing, and bypassed a valve from the E.G.R valve. my car was slow so he put everything back like it was.

Nope, if you fail emissions, you can't drive the car at all.

At least that's how it is here in Ontario.
