In April the wife and I will be going to Miami for my best buds wedding. After the wedding we'll be renting a car and driving up the East Coast. Where we'll stop, I'm not exactly sure yet, but we're kinda thinking NY and then flying home.
I have only a couple real goals:
1. Eat as much seafood and BBQ as I can
2. Meet up with a few people
3. See some cool shit
So my question to the Zilvia community is:
What are your favorite restaurants to eat at as far as BBQ and Seafood go? Doesn't necessarily have to be an expensive place. It can be a hole in the wall as long as it's dope as food.
Also, what are some cool places (museums, beaches, etc) to see?

Soooo many places
And if you wanna get some steak, in Raleigh there's a place called the Angus Barn. Super pricey, super nice, the only people I hear say they don't like it are people that can't afford it :keke: AND I live probably within 5 miles of it.

Oh, I am well aware, and Barry is not far from that aquarium, either.
I think the week on the 21st in April.
And therein lies my issue, that is the week of my brother's wedding.
We'd have to kill his fiancee if either he or I are to hang out that week.

Maybe that's not the week then, cause I thought I told you the other night on IM and you said that it would work out cause it's like the week after or before.
We'll figure it out. I gotta get the dates locked in first.

ok ok, i will suggest, stay somewhere down in key west, do that whole dog and pony show, go to sloppy joes bar and get hammered, stop by jimmy buffet's joint,
drive up to islamorada (one of the keys)
go to morada bay restruant, (know first hand some serious shit),
drive up to miami,
go to south beach,
and since u asked for seafood,
two words,
Joes
Stonecrabs.
people travel halfway across the world for that shit, definitely worth it.
then stop at los olas riverfront there is tons of shit to do there, (thats in ft lauderdale)
then in all honesty there is nothing to see but hillbillies and racists with scattered half dieing rich grandparents from boca raton up to just below st. augustine.
Stop at st augustine and see the fort, and all the old stuff up there.
then get the hell outa florida.

OK if you're gonna goto the keys... don't stay in key west.. stay an hour north in marathon at this joint called the banana bay. It's got it's own island out back and it's own harbor. Place is nice and there's some small reefs out back. About 5 miles by boat to the sombrero lighthouse and good diving. Slopy Joe's is a tourist trap.. psh. Capt Tony's is the original Hemingway bar if you're into history not that tourist trap. It's a place built by a man who had 13 kids with 3 wives who's lived as a charter boat captain, a gun runner and mayor of key west. A bar decorated with braziers is better than a bar decorated with fat pale white people from Wisconsin....
St Augustine is good but it's really a one trick pony. The fort is that.. a fort.. other than that it's a dead beat town.. don't go down king st or riberia st. They're not tourist areas. The conch house is a good party spot. the columbia is a nice dressy dinner spot. If you visit st. augustine in the morning, goto the spanish bakery on st. george st. Some of the best bread is cooked up fresh there daily. must get there before 11am or it's gone. it's a local treasure.
In north carolina. If you go up in the mountains there's always the tail of the dragon, but south of robinsville on 129 is an awesome campground on a beautiful emerald green lake.. $7 a nite. Worth it. It's about 10-20 miles south of robinsville. Awesome bbq at a place called "butts on a creek" in maggie valley,nc. Honestly its got some of the best sauces. So much that we fedex containers of them down for our cookouts. Blueridge parkway is a beautiful site if you've never road on it. Nature at it's best. Deff recomend it if you go through the mountains of NC/TN

:werd: This guy knows his eats BBQ and seafood galmore and probably the best burgers and dogs might be found at a back woods gas station. Just to name a few.
Kings BBQ
Wilburs BBQ
Sandpiper Seafood
Andy's burgers
P.S If your thinking BBQ and red sauce comes to mind keep it moving to another state.
Goddamit your making my mouf water!!!!!

This isn't seafood, but they have a little BBQ and a lot of other stuff.
Stop by Cook Out while you're in NC/Raleigh. Cook Out is soooo fucking good.
And look into Newport, RI. I used to live by there, lots of mansions and cool shit to look at.

I would say drive all the way to the white mts.
IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN!
Very Nice place, it is "virgin" ground...has not been over taken by "us"
Very good food in the mts too!
like redevil said also, Very good seafood on hampton beach and whatnot, (not a huge fan of seafood, but if the idea pops up all of my friends vote me out and we go to MARKEYS! a HUGE FRESH SEAFOOD PLACE! once seen a 20 lbs lobster in the holding tank!)
NEW ENGLAND IS VERY PUURRRDY, take a ride on the kangamangus highway!
theres a bbq joint on the beginning near lincoln nh.
Have fun! be safe around NJ NY, a budy got hit by a drunk driver on highway in NY. Fellow 240 guy, ace, so be careful! and goodluck.
