Well Christmas is pretty much over and my gut has not yet exploded...time to get what I really want. PARTS!! looking for some good sites to check out for boxing day sales.. I'm not sure if there are many sites that do it, but if you know some places to check out for some boxing day hook ups post them up.
BTW Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Hope all was well.

boxng day = day after christamas. most stores try to clear out last years products(2007 for example) for the coming year (2008). people wait hours in line ups at stores to buy shit...i'd rather sleep in and not pay retail prices in the first place :bigok:

Hey for all of you south of the great white north...boxing day is equivalent to our U.S. black friday.
Basically all the stuff stores cant sell during the regular yr...people are fooled into thinking its better to buy on wither a black friday or a boxing day. Same deal diff country.
Hope that clears somethings up.

isn't boxing day where you box up what you don't want that you got for Christmas and give it to the needy?

^^Yes.
It's a scam to make people believe that they are getting deals... all they are doing is selling items at close to their cost. I mean you can get some good deals, but to me it isn't worth the hassle.

Because boxing day in Canada sucks.
Boxing Day in the UK is pretty kick ass, I got a bunch of FCUK crap a couple years ago hella cheap, when it was cool.

Boxing day originated in the U.K and became a holiday of all members of the commonwealth (Canada, New Zealand, and Australia). It was the day when give a gift to your employees, the poor or any member of the lower social class. Today, most people tend to give presents to the Mailman, Milkman etc.
Im over in England at the moment visiting my parents and we go early to the shops for the sales, then stay at home with the family, eat leftovers from yesterday, and place bets on the horse racing! :)

ya, i am heading to the mall in a bit just to grab some shoes. i already told my friends there is no way i am going near best buy, i did that once and fuck was it insane
but ya, really its just a holiday to clear out inventory. my work isn't even open cause they are all about max profit (tire shop) and the last thing they wanted was people trying to get cheap tires

I never realized that it wasn't something that took place in the states too.. I guess that is what you have black Friday for. But yeah most places list a few stupidly cheap items to get you in the door then people just go buckwild buying shit. Some families don't buy presents for Christmas, they just go out on boxing day and buy whatever then.
If its not something that takes place in the states, then there really isn't going to be much for anything in the name of parts that are worth getting. Oh well.

We've always had day after xmas sales here. I think the "boxing day" threw everyone off. There are some good deals though...dvd's for one are way cheap right now. Plus there's always a lot of open items at electronics stores...always a good deal.
