s13 redtop into s14 won't start

Alright I have the engine in and the harness already converted by wiring specialties. Everything is hooked up and will crank. I can hear the fuel pump cycle everytime i try to crank the engine but the car won't start. I tried adjusting the cam position sensor and everytime I turn it one way or the other I hear my fuel pump kick on. The engine has tried to start off starting fluid. I have pulled a few plugs but they seem dry for as much cranking as i've done trying to et the car to start. it seems as thou i either have spark or fuel but never at the same time. The light inside my ecu comes on when the key is turned.

all in all I don't know if I have a wiring issue or what. I do know that I can grab my ecu harness and move it around and every once in a while i hear relays clicking and the fuel pump turning on and sometimes the wipers will start going off.

I'm loosing my mind on this. I'm almost ready to just buy a brand new wire harness and plug it all in.

check the ignitor chip.
had the same problems on my sr

to check it I need to test it with a volt meter on the other side of the chip while cranking it right? and where would i get a new one

OK every engine needs FUEL + Spark = Ka BOOM. Well here is what u do you remove your fuel line going to the fuel rail and see when u put key, you get fuel. If this is ok then the next thing is to check for sparks. Take out 1 spark plug (any one) and with the coil still installed ground out the plug. You will grounded by putting the tip of the plug to any metal part in the engine. When u crank it you will see a spark. This will tell u if you either have a fuel or spark issue. good luck

^^^^ I have done all of this and this is where the problem lies. I will have sprak and no fuel or I'll have fuel and no spark. and then i'll wiggle my ECU around now and i'll hear relays clicking and my wipers will go on and off and the light inside the ecu will turn on and off. I believe there is either a short by the ecu, a ground down there that i can't see or something that is messing with me.

/\ Looks like you didn't have "wiring specialty's" after all.

Download an FSM and double check your wiring to your ecu. They have a pinout etc.

Have you checked your timing?
