Hey. I was contemplating on whether buying a test pipe or not. My catalytic converter completely melted since my car runs rich and backfires like crazy. As soon as I fix the brake problem I'm taking it to see whats wrong. Anyways my question was will the 3'' test pipes fit to the to the stock piping? My car has stock piping from header to the catalytic and 2 1/2'' from catalytic back. Will that work since I can't find 2 1/2'' test pipes. Help. Thanks in advanced. :bigok:

Get a resonated test pipe, or if you're on eBay, it would be a 'high flow cat'. I got a Megan racing resonated test pipe on the cheap and it came with half decent gaskets, unlike when I got one for my s13.

Resonated > straight pipe

you should just gut the cat.

But yes, it will fit.

Gut the cat? I've never heard of that. So the 3'' test pipe will be direct bolt on into the stock piping things?

yes, the flanges fit. gutted cat is just breaking all the crap inside the cat to make it hollow.
