well im looking to rebuild my sr tranny. would i have to buy the KA ones since they are the same tranny??? or is there a place where i could get the guts off a sr one???(hopefully a shop) i know that the sr has a wider 5th gear(overdrive). could i just use that gear and replace the rest with the KA internals??? please help. thanks

Um, KA's and SR's do not have the same tranny. I believe they have the same gear ratio. I've read somewhere you can do a bellhousing swap. KA internals on a SR tranny. Search fresh alloy. Hope that helps a little.

oh noooo. sorry guy, just cant do it. the bell housing on the ka is different from the sr. if that were the case this whole sr thing would be so much easier and cheaper. Only thing i've read is that you can use ka internals on the sr bellhousing. You know, say one of your gears went out on your sr. research it more......
