Hey i have a 98 240 w s14 sr20. Latley(now that its colder) the battery light and brake light stay alluminated when i start the car. when you try to accelerate it falls on its face at 3k or so. (kinda like a maf problem). are those two lights an oem warning for a maf problem. the lights will go off and its fine. but sometimes its comes back. any other prople have this problem

try tightening your negative terminal. This is exactly what happens when it's loose. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That's the first thing you should check.

its your alternator. check the output voltage for the alternator when the lights are on, if you dont have approx 14v the alternator is bad.

Bingo. Low voltage to the fuel pump, car won't run for shit. Repair/replace the alternator.

Also good places to check are the fender harness on the front left corner if your car is lowered, and check your grounds on the engine bay.
Sometimes people unbolt stuff and forget to put it back, giving them bad grounds.
