Quick tech question? I have a friend with a 90 s13 hatch. He has told me that, when he cuts the car off the motor shakes. what would this be, we are thinking motor monts. If motor monts how hard skill leavel would you say it is to change the motor mounts with the motor still in the car? can it be done or do you have to remove the motor?

Motor mounts are about as hard as taking some bolts out.. Get an engine hoist and go to town.

wait what?
ok your motor is suppose to move a little when u turn it off, thats if u have stock mounts.
if it shakes VIOLENTLY then their is probably something wrong with a mount.
its cake...take out to bottom nuts on the mounts, loosen the top nuts, jack up motor. Once the bottom stud is out of the frame, take off top nuts, remove motor mount and put in new ones. Make sure when you put new ones on to leave the top nut loose so u can play with them as u lower it into the slots.

Not necessarily but it sure does make the job all that much easier.

Does it shake up on start up and while idling as well? Then mounts most likely.

This is what I used to change mine out:

The only difference is I used 6" 2x4 pieces instead of 12".
