I have a set of R.Y.O coilovers to test n tune on my S13 given to us by Yoshinaga Ryo by Make and Wake of art RYO. My question is if anyone here has had any time on the track with the RII Dampers?? Any advice or comments would be great!:aw:

In fact, probably not many people even know about it....

Does no one read (or look at the pretty pictures) hyper rev? but anyways, i highly doubt anyone on this forum has experience with this product, or has even heard of this company.

I met that guy.. He was judging at drift comp here and seemed like a douche as he wouldn't talk to anyone.
I'm guessing his dampers are just like any other damper designed for drifting.. Shitty. Generic spring rates and bad valving.

Come on man be nice....stay on topic
I will do some test n tune with the coilovers and fill you guys in....alot of D1 drivers and MSC drivers in japan including RYO himself who drives for D1 and D1 street legal rolls on these coils.

Here is some details on RYO D1 S13
Built by our friends at RYO this stunningly tuned S13 Silvia K's was driven by Fujio in D1 Grand Prix and by Iwai in the D1 Street Legal Series. With 400HP (and easily capable of more) on tap it's tremendously fast and with all the creature comforts this machine could literally be used as a daily driver! This is a pro level car and with the right driver behind the wheel it is more than capable of winning championships.
CONDITION
This S13 is PRISTINE inside and out. The interior is in like-new condition which is rare for an S13 and is fully retained including all panels and carpeting. In addition A/C, heating, and a full stereo system are present as well. A large majority of this car from the motor to the aero is new. Despite the high-output the motor starts and idles perfectly which is a testament to it's tuning.
DRIVING IMPRESSION
This is an extremely fast car. The power curve is smooth and strong with no holes/misses even as boost comes on heavily and keeps coming throughout the power band. Drifting this car is amazingly easy. It is perfectly balanced and feels extremely stable even at 160KPH+ entry speeds.

My Name is Raffi and i am a driver/owner along with my partner, brother, Shant (AKSamuraiS14 here on zilvia) and we own and drive for our company Aero-K Garage. Pleasure to meet you Brian!
I run Tein Super Drifts on my S13 hatch and I will be switching to the RYO RII Dampers, I just wanted to hear some feedback from people if anyone has driven on them. I am excited to install them and give it a run or two or three...haha

These coilovers aren't anywhere near the price of Tein's, Stance's, Megan's, D2's, etc... They have been made to withstand extreme drifting. The center Dampening shaft is fully replacable if one decides to blow...Japan drivers run these for over 2 seasons with no problems...

multiple perspectives, man...if more than one person is testing, there's a better chance to find flaws that may exist and, in turn, allow for better development with a better end-product.

For me to come here and ask if anyone runs RYO Dampers is solely for my information to see if their are anyone out here in the US that may have them or has never heard of them.
I am not trying to introduce product to you guys in the means of JDM aspect. I am trying to introduce something new for next year. Something that involves well built parts and well respected names in Japan will be available here in the States through our company for next year. Pricing will be available next year as well as a fully launched online store.
I am here to help out drivers because i am a driver myself. I don't know how many people like Japan products but i sure do. So we made a connection and are bringing hard to get parts from japan here in North America exclusivly as well as companies that are not available here in the states. examples;
- RYO
- D-Max
- Koguchi Power
- 326 Power
- Supermade
- Rocket Bunny
- Works9
- J-blood
Guys, I am not advertising anything here cause their is nothing to offer yet. Mid April of 08 will be the time Modified Mag, Super Street will hold an add for Aero-K Garage. In the mean time, this is just a friendly introduction of what is to come.
Hopefully we can be of service next year and make drivers on zilvia very happy!

RYO makes some great parts. I've been using their coilovers for a while now and they're amazing. Of course I'm a bit biased but they're certainly not the typical, cheap, "JDM" crap. Everything is designed and manufactured in Japan utilizing high-grade components. Even the oil was specifically designed for the RII's by Advantage. When they're officially released in the US damper dyno info will be available.
It's just too bad Ryo can't drift to save his life.:naughtyd: For those of you going to Long Beach for FD Round 1 next year you'll be able to meet him (he's a really, really nice guy) and check out the parts for yourself.

CST Zero-1s are a good bang for the buck but they don't seem to have a very long life. Of course their new model may be a bit better.
They really need to just drop the coilovers from their lineup and focus on getting the Zero-1 wheels manufactured as they can't keep up with the amount of orders they are getting.

Yeah, thanks for the scans Dousan. Now I'd like to hear Wiseass chime in.
Well they look pretty similar to everything else. I'm assuming with the RYO's that the left plot is for the rears and the right plot is for the fronts. Otherwise there would be too much damping force on the rear and not enough on the front. But without numbers for force or speed, there isn't too much I can say about that. I can run any calculations or compare to other plots.
But they look pretty similar to everything else from Asia in terms of damping trends. Linear compression so there is either not enough compression damping in the low speed or too much in the high speed causing a rough ride. It looks like a lot of rebound, maybe around where it should be, maybe too much, but not very well balanced with compression.
Since they're there, the GP Sports dampers don't look much better. More rebound which is probably not needed. And on the right plot it looks like the damper is seeing some cavitation probably a result of not balancing the adjusters with the bleed ports on the piston or not enough gas pressure.
But that's all I can really say without more data.

Well they look pretty similar to everything else. I'm assuming with the RYO's that the left plot is for the rears and the right plot is for the fronts. Otherwise there would be too much damping force on the rear and not enough on the front. But without numbers for force or speed, there isn't too much I can say about that. right.

Well Brian, no. But that doesn't mean people won't buy them and claim that they're better than all the other entry level stuff. They're probably just another pick your favorite color setup.
