so i traded my 85 supra for another 240. the guy told me that all that needed to be replaced was the throwout bearing and it would run like a charm...... so i think,, no big deal.............

time to get to the chase
i replaced the slave cylinder
i then bleed the clutch while the car was not running.....
the clutch felt fine so i started it up to see if the clutch would be ok.....

while idleing i pushed in the clutch and it made it idle up to 1500
when i let go of the clutch it dropped back to 1000..

after trying this 4-5 times the clutch just lost all pressure again and started making a metal on metal noise

i turn the car off and look under the car and see......
that the rod going from the slave cylinder to the tranny lever thing isnt even touching anymore...... as a matter of fact, the slave cylinder rod was hanging out too far and only hangin on by the boot.....

idk what in the hell to do?

my only guess is to pull the tranny and check out the clutch......

any ideas guys would be greatly appreciated... im not trying to be a noob..... but i really could use some help and wouldnt post this unless i really needed it. because i work hard to keep positive rep by doing build threads and how to topics. but i have no other resort

^--yeah if you really think about it pulling the tranny isn't that difficult. it may seem difficulty know, but think about it. if you pull the tranny you will 99% find out what the problem is, rather than dicking around for a month trying to replace shit and take pictures and post them up here asking for advice.

pull the tranny, maybe the TOB unseated itself from the TOB carrier, or the TOB return spring is misbehaving.

pull the tranny, it's like 9 bolts or something. + 4 cuz you have to remove the ds also.

My car just broke like this pretty much.

Its most likely throwout bearing or the pivot bolt thing.

Transmission isn't too bad, have a friend to help muscle and make sure to have a few swivel extensions and regular extensions and its pretty easy.

Helpful tip of the day:
When taking off a tranny, use the little ass ratchet wrench.
Helps a lot.

If you have air tools, use an air powered ratchet through the shifter hole with two long extentions on there. Works wonders after it's already broken free by hand. Saves ~20 minutes sitting there wrenching.
