When hit the brakes, not just my break lamps come on, my parking lights, the ones mounted on the front of the bumber, my gauge cluster lights, my cd player. Pretty much all the things that light up when you turn on your headlights. I got the car like this from some guy.
Anybody know how to fix this or where the wires can be connected wrong?
Thanks

I would look at the fuse box on the passenger side of the engine, the one on the driver side under the resonator and the by the drivers feet. the brake switch is right by the brake pedal, somehow the parking lights and other interior lights are getting a signal from that. do the interior lights work when you are not pressing on the brake? also, do the 4-way flashers or blinkers work?

240racer, no, the interior cabin light doesn't come on. Just all the lights on the consoles and what not and small lights on the front of the bumber. The blinkers don't come on.
I haven't had a chance to check the fuse boxes yet...

I didn't mean the dome lights, I meant the ones that you specified as coming on that are on the inside of the car, that shouldn't come on with the brake lights. (cdplayer, gauge etc.)
are you gauge lights on when you are OFF the brake?
check your bulbs like the guy in the chat section said.

Sorry, I forgot about the post in the chat section because I didn't mean to put it there. I'm gonna check the bulbs, it sounds like he had the same problem I'm having.
Thanks

Okay, It took me long enogh to check. When i hit the breaks, both my front turn signals on the bumber and my right front turn signal comes on. I checked the bulbs but they were the right ones. I also checked the drivers side fuse box and all the fuses were okay. I also checked the one in under the hood and it was fine too.
Does anybody else have any suggestions or idea's as to what might be wrong? Please help me!!

there must be a wire that got switched from the hazards to the brakes or something. that's odd, it's probably going to take a fair amount of work with the voltage tester or multi-meter to get it figured out, I don't have any more thoughts. Good luck

Yeah, I really don't know what to do and I wouldn't even know where to start if I was gonna test it with a volt meter.
Anybody else have any suggestions?
