well, a lot of you watch the hills and there's a 500 page fashion thread, so this is probably the best forum i'm on to ask this.

i have a couple watches. but i never wear long sleeve shirts. will i look like an asshole if i wear a watch with short sleeves? they're not "NICE" watches. one's an Arnette with a thick leather band, the other is a Swatch. i've got a Folex somewhere, too.

and yes, i'm surrounded by things with clocks in them. but i just like the way they look.

like short sleeve button downs, polos or t-shirts? polo's+t-shirts are fine you wont look like an ass but if you have short sleeve button downs, the least of your worries should be the watch

personally, i ditch a leather/rubber watchband if i can switch it out for a chunky metal one, and if i cant, i dont buy that watch.

short sleeve polos when i have to dress "business casual" and tshirts the other 99% of the time.

Im so confused by your question, this is how I read it

"You want to wear a watch and wondering if you can wear it with a short sleeve shirt?"

"Your in an environment with clocks in them?"

First off, isnt logical to NOT wear watches with long sleeve shirts? Due to the fact that it covers the watch?

But yeah Im totally confused about what your situation is / what your asking, please elaborate.

for a while the only reason i wore a watch was because i was convinced i had people fooled into thinking i was left handed (since i was wearing it on my right wrist) and they wouldnt know where that right hook came from

i've always been under the impression that it's shitty looking to wear a watch with short sleeves. the part about being surrounded by clocks to keep people from posting about how watches are pointless being that there are clocks in just about everything now. but yeah.

watches with short sleeves. is this okay or no way?

what the hell? why would you look like an asshole? lol. you're thinking about it too much. i use to wear them all the time. polo, tshirt, etc. its fine. not so much anymore because i just use my cell phone to check the time.

Watch with short sleeves is ok as long as you have man arms and not skinny girly looking arms.

i get the feeling im digging myself a big gay hole here, but i dont care. androgeny for the win! but yeah, i wear random t-shirts like my old phys ed shirt with a chunky fossil all the time (expensive watches are for people who have nothing better to blow their money on IMO) putting on a polo is dressing up for me and wearing a tie is for funerals. its not a fashion faux pa if thats what you're after. taken from a fashion website: "the key to fashion is believing that you can pull the look off" then they show some japanese teenie bopper with like 5 different bras for a shirt, plaid pants, and ugg boots topped off with a fargo hat. weird.

i know what you mean, i dont look at the watch, i dont even care if the time is off. it just keeps my arm from feeling naked and makes me look hip. like my beret...or my purple acid wash jeans...

i think it looks stupid when a watch is worn with short sleeves. kind of nerdy if you ask me. might as well tuck your shirt into your wranglers and wear new balence shoes with that outfit.

i only like watches with botton down shirts or MAYBE a nice sweater

I wear short sleeves often, like right now, and I more often than not have a chunky metal banded Fossil (today it is a black Adidas) watch on my wrist.
I sit at a computer all day with my call phone sitting in plain view next to me... Your watch is an accessory, one that people have worn casually, more fashion than function for all it is worth.

a watch with short sleeves is only truly nerdtastic if the watch does math or changes the channel for you, and its a button down short sleeve. there is no point in having a button down short sleeve shirt unless it has "dickies" on it and even then its ok to wear a watch

this has always been my view, but i don't think it applies to more casual watches. like, if i had an omega or any other nice metal watch, i think it'd look ridiculous to wear it with short sleeves.

alright, i think i've got this cleared up.

I hate watches, with a passion.

Sure, they provide a nice accent to your outfit; And they do it much better than some faggotty ass bracelet.

But they're always uncomfortable. The get stuck in your arm hair. Or they slide up and down your arm (at least if you have skinny little women arms like me). Or they get in the way when you're trying to reach into a tight space.

Or maybe I just have a lot of resentment toward watches because my Dad invested literally tens of thousands of dollars on Breitlings but wouldn't spring for a goddamn Sega Genesis when I was a kid.

I personally never wear watches with long sleeve shirts. It looks retarded if the watch sticks out or if it stretches out the fabric by being under.

Short sleeves for the win. Fabric or leather bands with t-shirts and metal bands with polos IMO.

Man, I remember when G-Shock's and Baby-G's were HUGE in Japan. My uncle bought me one, so I was rocking one back in elementary school. That watch was ridiculously oversized on my elementary schoolboy wrist. I need to find it. There were so many features on it that I didn't know how to use.

To stay OT......just do the damn thang!

i wear it with t shirts, polos, dress shirts when i go out. i really dont think its a big deal to wear it with tees but i guess for sum it is. wear ur watches with what u want. if u think it looks bad than just dont wear the watch... that easy really. if u think u can pull it off than wear it.

this thread is funny.

short-sleeve button-ups are a no-no regardless if you're wearing a watch or not.

there is nothing wrong with wearing a watch with short sleeves. I pretty much always wear polos and a watch. I always use my watch to check time because it's more convenient than pulling my cell out of my pocket. However, I wouldn't wear anything super fancy with short sleeves. I usually wear my stainless steel Fossil everyday, and I have a titanium Skagen for when I dress up a little more.

Something design school taught me is that watches are one of the few fashion accesories that men can always get away with.

As a result I've got a few StARCK (high-end Fossil) that I switch up depending on my outfit. I personally hate metal bands because my wrists are small enough that the band can't conform properly, so I get leather bands instead.
Watches are perfectly acceptable with short sleeve shirts, although it will look better if you use a smaller faced watch with a smooth material band.
