I just got back from Japan and I left my car sitting outside for 5 years. The engine cranks but for some reason I believe that the fuel pump is malfunctioning. No gas coming out of the fuel line. I already replaced the fuel filter with a new one thinking that it might have been clogged.
When I turn the key to ACC: the fuel pump is not pumping out any gas. I wanna make sure first before I purchase a brand new fuel pump. Any help would be appreciated. So if you're located around the SD area LMK. I've been trying to troubleshoot this for awhile now and I'm about to give up

This is going to sound dumb but did you check the fuse? Is the pump running at all or just silence? What did you do to prepare your car for storage before you left?

Well, I checked it again. Everything seems to be fine up until I tried to crank the engine. Everytime I try to crank the engine, the fuse gets blown. So I believe there's a short somewhere. And the pump is running silent as in ... it's NOT pumping out any gas at all.
As far as storage. No preparation. I had to leave in a hurry plus I was going to school...hectic schedule!!!

I know the hurried feeling. Try to track down that short first. Could be a alarm install or removal that wasn't done right.

I got an alarm installed but I yanked everything out already. But I'll try to double check to see If I missed anything!!!

A lot of times some of the wiring insulation is cut off or cut and you can get a short. You wouldn't believe the ghetto fabulous job the assclown who had my car before me did. I got so fed up I removed everything.

Yea, I know what you mean. Same thing happened to my S13 in Japan. I had all kinds of cut wires and I had to yank them out. Thanks to my electrical tape!!! I will update this thread tomorrow to see if I can find anything else unusual. Hopefully it's nothing major. The most important thing is that the engine cranks. I just need FUEL!!!

FYI gasoline turns to varnish if left too long. It might have gummed up everything including the fuel pump.

agreed.. chances are your fuel pump got gummed up since your car was sitting there for 5 years.
