Huh?

The GT-R is 7-spoke and the Trans Am is 5-spoke.

...like the front and rear are the same?

yes I must admit I'm lost on this topic, those are two different wheels

Maybe he means the concave shape the wheels share. Along with the 350z track wheels, G37 wheels, and a few more I can't think of off the top of my head.

those on the T/A look like all the SS wheels GM has been using on the Malibu, Cobalt, Silverado, and Trailblazer.

btw if they put a screamin chicken on the hood i'm putting my deposit down immediately.

The Trans am is a photoshop. EDIT: and a pretty awful one at that.
The wheels are obviously off something.

BTW: A lot of times GM won't let its designers do something until some other company takes the risk and does it first. The reason the CTS has vertical headlights is because the Infiniti G35 did it first (I learned this from a designer for GM while I was at school.)

It's just a sign of the times. How many cars in the 80's had mesh wheels? Or how many cars in the 60's and 70's had wire wheels?

And that TA drawing is damn ugly. Damn damn ugly. LOL @ pontiac if the new TA looks even close to that.

looks like the front of a sunfire and the back of a corvette... eww

Trans am looks like a stretched out sunfire, the GTR should not be in the same thread w/ it. And liek everyone else said the wheels look nothing alike, except for that fact that that fire birds wheels were stolen from a cobalt SS.

Did I miss any?

I personally love the Charger the most

As for the wheels... you can see that all the cars that share a platform over at Dodge all have the same concave wheels and I wouldn't be surprised if the Challenger's production wheels are the same.

EDIT: Im sure this is going to be the latest fad, seeing as the Honda kids are now getting into low offset wheels as well

^^ YOU BROKE THE CHAIN!!! BOOO!! HISSSSSS!!

im not a big fan of 5 doors...too station-wagony for me. baller cruiser-mobile sure but it doesnt convey "muscle" and the charger would be better served with 2 doors other than that no complaints

I know what you mean about the wheels.

Did you really refer to the Lincoln MKZ as a muscle car? If thats what they are calling muscle cars today thank god I am into imports.

^^lol.

I kind of see what he means though about them looking the same. Cars now days are all looking like they're concepts, which didn't happen as much in the fast, like the 4th gen eclipse, 06 civics, the GTR, part of a car looking like a concept car is to have those weird ass wheels.

And yeah I haven't really noticed a trend in Honda guy's running low offset wheels...they still rock Desmond Regamaster's and the like like never before...or any other JDM wheel...just like the rest of us....there may be a small portion of them that run low-offset wheels....but thats quite a hasty generalization.

caddy CTS is not a muscle car. the CTS-V isnt either.

anyways, i think, much like the current "old new school" car design trend, that the wheel thing is exactly that- a trend. who knows maybe next theyll bring back meshies on everything lol

and i swear if they do not bring back the trans am, i will blow up GM.
