RUnning really rich??? They have been in for aprox 15miles which is all my motor has gone. I steel wooled the black stuff off and still wont start! There is spark from all coil packs. Is there any other diagnostics? TPS @ .5v. When I turn the CAS is there suppose to be a noise like injectors pumping? Help:D:D: btw they looked like they were very oily..maybe it was just gas?

for whatever reason, youre running very rich.
do you have the pressure on the regulator set correctly?
is this a recent thing?

I havent got it tuned yet...its always been stumbling at idle etc. I havent touched my sard FPR ...should I???

Most likely it was just gas if you just kept trying to start it, it wouldn't hurt to change the plugs

they looked JUST like the bottom pic;
http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/graphics/tech/plugconditions/dryandwet.jpg
"Dry and wet fouling
Fouling, either dry (top - matt black, sooty) or wet (bottom - gloss black, sticky),Carbon deposits build up when the plug fails to fire correctly and burn them off. Air/fuel mixture too rich, choke stuck on, electrical problem, extended periods of low speed driving, plug heat range too cold. All should be investigated"

so...prob because I have not got tune or set the timing? Could this "WET FOUL" be causing the motor not to fire?

check fuel pressure... should be around 38 psi stock with the vacuum plugged in

^ my defi gauge reads ~3 I think its in BARS? so It would be around 43psi? I looked at the sard regulator..I dont think it can be adjusted? I am going to get ne wplugs...fingers crossed it fires.

Sard regulator can be adjusted (loosen the lower nut 13 i think and than adjust it from the smaller one 10) , fouled plugs can cause it to not start, what kind of plugs are you running? BKR7E? what is it gapped at?

Fouled plags can cause your engine not to catch.

But you need to figure out why your plugs are fouling up to begin with.

Things to check: Injector O-rings, Fuel rail, piston rings, head gasket.

It doesn't have to be fuel that fouled your plugs. In rare cases oil and coolant may be the culprit.

Lastly, make sure you let the cylinders dry out. Remove all the sparkplugs and let the gasoline evaporate/leak down. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. Use an air hose (if available) to dry out the cylinders more quickly.

Good Luck!

Just turn the crew on the top to the left a quarter turn until the idle changes.. That should help it run a little leaner.

Walbro 255, fuel cell, RC 750cc,SARD FPR, SARD fuelrail, AN's and SS.
Well tried again tonight..cranked and fired for a SECOND, very rough.
So I took em all out AGAIN.. gapped .030 all are black and wet except for the last cylinder. Geeze...leaky injector??? But THREE!? adjusted the fuel pressure to ~40psi. I hate sr's. guess im gonna have to take it to a shop I give up:loco: i dont get..it started fine and ran 20times.. then all of a sudden it started to idel REALLY rough, died and wont start again. anyone in NORCAL wanna look at it? Ill pay:D

it might possiblely be the timing, too...my car has the same problem....we didnt think it would be the timing...but it ended up to be the timing was way off

hows it running now?

I second that beautiful car statement.

What type of engine management? Sounds like you really need to get a good base tune on it.

It could be leaky injectors or orings. Let everything dry out and then turn the pump on. Don't start the engine. Check if fuel is getting into the cylinders.
