Wussup yall. This is the rickety rick..
No, its not really.
But who has pictures of where they mounted their 5 pt harness stuff in an s14?
There is no convenient spot for the 5th point, is there?

I would do it one of two ways, either get a half cage with a proper harness mounting bar or get a workshop that makes cages to weld a bar in between the rear strut towers and mount the harness on that.
My theory is that if you ever need the harness then you need to to be absolutely right, if you can't be sure that it's absolutely right I'd stick to the factory 3 point which has gone through extensive testing.
looking for a pic i know i have one.

I think he is talking about the submarine(nut) belt.

Yah, the nut belt..
well and the bolt for the inside lap belt..
and the shoulder belts require a bar, i get that.

Drill a hole in the floor and use some washers edited.

weld a bar between the 2 seat brackets and drill a hole in the center and put an eye- bolt in there and clip it in. FYI 5th point is fazed out. They ahve the 6 point now where each leg gets an individual strap.

your probably going to have to have a bracket welded in if you don't want to drill through the floor. Just my two cents?

Or why not but the 6 point attachment and anchor off the front seat bracket bolts?...
5th point scares me for obvious reasons... I'd keep it looser than the rest of the harness when you strap up...

that 5th belt will hurt you more if you left it loose. The whole point of the anti submarine belt is so you don';t come shooting out of your seat, or sliding down the seat and having your 4 point rip up at your ribs. If you leave it loose that will give your body more room to build momentum crushing your nuts even more. I heard that the subaru that crashed on streets of willow that caused a big hooplah like a year ago had a passenger chick that had a 4 point on but after the crash she was stuffed under the dash cuz she didn;t have the anti submarine belt. Having your seat raked back at an angle (like its suppose to be) kinda stops that, but its always nice to have a back up. With that said i should do less talking and more dooing cuz I haven't put my 5th point in either = )

My buckle is 5 point.
I still don' tknow where people have the lap belt restraints mounted. I know the outside one can be bolted to the OG seatbelt mounting spot...
Where do you bolt the inside belt? to the seat rail? Its a Bride type LH. Should I remove one of the bolts on the 90 degree plate attaching to the rail and slip the belt connector under there?

muther fuck, none of you s14 fucks have fucking pics of where you fucking mounted your fucking harness?
hhahaha
shit.
Outside lap belt uses OG seatbelt mount. K.
For 5th point I need to either weld a bar or drill a hole. K.
shoulder straps need a bar across the back. K.
Inside lap belt?

I used the seat rail itself.
There is a bracket on there with a hole.

couldn't you just fab up something (like the first pic) and weld it to where i've circled (second pic)?seems like you'd be able to mount your harness like that. (idk, i've never done it, just an idea)

Use the seat rail mount hole on the firewall, it will line the belt up perfecly with the hole in the seat wont it?

mark where you want it mounted.

or you could just mount it to your pants.
the seatbelt should be mounted to the chassis IMO
but i havent looked into it really. just seems like common sense, i might be wrong

My penis will keep me safe in the event of a high speed collision. haha
I was thinking of using the tunnel bolt, just wondering if there was a different way.
Thanks guys, I guess. haha

drill a hole in the floor, then use a big washer on both sides and use an eye bolt. thats the "scca" way. like 1.5 or 2 inch washer, maybe 1/8 inch thick

or you could drill it in the tranny tunnel. it seriously doesnt matter though. as long as its strong
for my stock seatbelt in case i drive on the street its just a thing welded like someone suggested. super easy.

Holes in the floor with eyebolts and big fender washers or a plate welded to the floor is the way to go for the lap belt mounting. Same as with the sub belt.
You don't want the belts mounted to the seat or the seat rails because if the seat or rails break in the event of a crash, you don't want to go flying out with the seat. You want the harness bolted to the chassis as solidly as possible, so it will keep you there in case anything goes wrong.
