The previous owner of my S14 did some hack wiring job that I'm trying to fix. Engine is stock 95 KA. My car has been going haywire when I hit a bump because of the bad contacts in the wiring shifting. Or sometimes the car doesn't want to start because of the bad wiring going on (I'd go and tap the fusebox, and then it'd turn on for instance).

Anyways, here's the pics and I'm going to try to describe what is happening. I'll put my questions in bold, and feel free to point out anything that seems to be bad to you.

The Big Picture
Here are the two plastic panels that hold the fuses and relays of course.

Positive Terminal (+) and Fusebox
Here is the Positive terminal for the battery. From left to right. The 1st cable on the left is going to the fuse box, the 2nd cable is going to a relay for my e-fan, the 3rd cable is going to the fuse box as well, and the 4th cable is going to the starter.

Now, as you can see the 1st cable on the battery terminal goes to the fusebox, where it then splits into 3 more cables.

These 3 cables are going to the Foglight fuse, L and R Headlight fuse, the EGI fuse, and the Ignition fuse. From the Ignition fuse there is also another cable coming out and going into the wiring harness. I mention this cable because it does not look stock.

The 2nd cable is for my e-fan like I said, so no need to explain that. Here is the 3rd cable. It also goes to the fusebox.

It connects to the 75A fuse. From that fuse there is another cable that goes into the wiring harness. I'm mentioning it because it also does not look stock. You can see both of these non-stock-looking cables in the pick below going into the wiring harness.

So. How should I go about cleaning all this up?I only want one cable coming out of the positive terminal. I was thinking of maybe using a distribution block, but not to sure how to wire it. Its probably simpler than I'm making it out to be.

Ground Terminal (-)
Now, on the Ground terminal there is 1 wire and 1 cable coming out.

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e367/gambit25/electrical/SSPX0395.jpg

The 1st wire on the left is grounding directly to the chassis. Where this wire grounds, there is another wire also grounding. This other thin wire is going to the alternator. Both of these wires seems to be too thin for what they're intended for. If one is supposed to ground the battery and the other is supposed to ground the alternator, shouldn't it be of thicker gauge?

The second large cable coming out of the ground terminal is bolted under the intake manifold. Is this necessary, can't I just ground it to the chassis? I would like there to be only one cable coming out of the ground terminal.

EGI Fuse
I've noticed that the EGI fuse is missing. Apparently I've never had it. What is this for? Should I get a fuse for it.

Thanks in advance. Please help me solve this wiring nightmare. If theres anything I need to clear up let me know.

honestly.... i'd go to a junk yard and find a doner harness w/ box, pull everything you can at the plugs so you don't have to splice and replace as much as possible. but thats just me. good luck.

then find the previous owner and....:axe:

get one from R240NA, i bought one from him to redo mine, the previous owned did a complete hack job on all the wiring from my car... i've replaced it all.

Well, I have considered that. So what, do I replace the entire wiring harness? Wouldn't it be simpler to get a little distribution block and just hook up to there?

Anyways, can someone answer my questions about the Ground (-) side of things? I think that may be a simple fix. And what about the EGI fuse?
