Anyone have a real pic of the heater hose in the engine bay like the pic? This is the KA24DE manual.
When I look under my hood, I don't see a weird looking box(#1 in pic, what is it supposed to be), and I don't the 90degree heater hose like in the pic, even though I do see heater cock. Assuming the pic is passengers side and #2 is intake manifold right? Or is the manual little different, because I know they sometimes change a little bit opposed to the actual.

#1 is the ABS unit found in 91-93 HICAS Hatchback model. If you dont have it then you dont have HICAS plain and simple.
#2 is the intake manifold.
Hahaha heater cock. :keke:

Thanx for defining that werid stupid box Driven08.
Is it the big fat hose going into the firewall the heater hose? If not, what's this hose? And is heater core viewable under the hood?

at nissan the comptuer option on the screen for a coolant flush would refer to the coolant as "cockwater"

Look on the firewall. You will see two large lines coming out (if you still have AC) or two large holes. To the driver's side of those holes you will see two smaller hoses, one on top of the other.
This is your heater core and the hoses are your heater hoses.

The heater core accepts 5/8" heater hoses. Nice pix.

Awesome pics S14DB! Did you take these just for me, or was it hidden in the forums somewhere? I searched almost over 200 results with no luck:squint: What does drain in the 1st pic do?
My last question is that looking at your last pic, there are 4 screw clamps holding the top and bottom heater hoses. So according to the fsm when bleeding heater hose, where would it be best to take off the hoses? From the firewall?
I also read somewhere that you can just loosen one of the clamp completely without taking the hoses off, and it will eventually air out when putting heater on MAX. If this is the case, which one do you loosen?
My car is not overheating, but it makes the running water sound when moving the heat lever, meaning it has air in it. Weird that my temp. gauge stays in the middle, but maybe it's faulty..

Can anyone tell me how the coolant travels through the heater hose by looking at S14DB's latest pic? And where do the air get trapped exactly?
I still hear bubbling sounds when I rev past 2k, and my temp gauge is going from middle to bottom which is weird.
air stays on upper most part, so loosen the upper line.
heater core isn't directional, water will still go through it if you hook it up "backwards"
Oh and in the original pic it has 2 black arrows to show you where your heater hose begins and ends.
