"On the verge of missing a flight, seven-time F1 Champion Michael Schumacher jumped behind the wheel of a taxi and arrived in time at the airport with his family, according to a report emanating from AFP."

"Taxi driver Tuncer Yilmaz, interviewed by daily Munich newspaper Abendzeitung, said Schumacher asked him if he could drive the car himself. The now-consultant at Ferrari was accompanied by his wife and two children."

"'I found myself sitting in the passenger seat with Schumi at my side. It was incredible,' explained Yilmaz."

"'He made incredible passes and drove at high speed through the curves,' added the taxi driver, who was granted a good tip in addition to his fare."

"The report was confirmed to German sports news agency SID by Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's spokeswoman."

"She explained that the Schumacher family landed at an airport in Coburg, in central Germany, to take delivery of a dog from a breeder located in a nearby village."

Not to be a debbie downer

But isn't this kinda irresponsible?

Like yeah you're late, but driving faster (and better) will only probably save you a couple minute or two

And also, if you were a taxi cab driver, that seems like a big liability to let someone else drive YOUR cab, regardless of if he's Schumacher

I mean, I guess it just seems odd since we celebrate celebrities being able to break the rules, while the next time we speed to the airport we would get a ticket

Shrug

Why?

This happened in central Germany on, I'm assuming, the Autobahn; No speed limit.

Good point on the liability, though.

But whatever.

another website source said he was driving a taxi van..
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/global/main.jhtml?xml=/global/2007/12/12/noindex/wschumi111.xml

im thinking it could be bogus.. come on , i would think he would be a model citizen law obaying driver would he really break laws?

With his wife, two children and new addition to the family Ed, the Australian Shepherd pup, on board, Schumacher proceeded to put pedal to metal.
I dont think he would want to put his family in danger like that.. but who knows he has the skill to do it safely

Maybe he did ride in a taxi and the taxi driver making up a story and bragging about how he got to drive schumi
