View Full Version : ka24e to ka24de swap
I have a '89 240SX with a bad KA24E motor. I was wondering what exactly I needed to put a KA24DE in my car? And what will I have to do to keep my power steering and AC? Thanks in advance.

Why exactly do you want to do this?
It seems a bit overboard for the extra few Hp and you could rebuild your bottom end for that much...

Im not really into the HP difference. Its just that rebuilding my KA24E would be too much work and would cost more than I can afford. And I found a low mileage KA24DE for a reasonable price, so I was thinking of just swapping that in.

you may need the 91+ tach/speedometer, power steering lines, and a/c lines, wiring harness and ECU.
thanks for the reply bricktop. has anyone done this swap? if so, did you encounter any problems with anything? also wouldn't it be possible to use my '89 speedometer?

lots of people have done the swap. Unstable-hybrids has plenty of information on the situation. you should use your stock speedo. it's quite easy. you have to splice 6 wires or so, that's the only tricky part
