View Full Version : suede anyone?

Due to the overwhelming interest in my suede door panels, i am now offering this service to anyone who would like this done. shipping would be too much of a hastle, so please don't ask. i prefer you to do a drop off. all prices are set prices, due to the high cost on materials. i don't have a sewing machine, so i cant do seats, sorry. but i can repair the foam on your worn out seats.

resume: OK, i once worked for my uncle at his upholstery shop in san Fernando valley, ca. "dooby's automotive" i worked for a little over a year, caught on very quick, and learned a few tricks of the trade, but as all good things go, the business got slow so he had to let me go...:sadwavey: I've done small jobs on my personal cars to stay brushed up on the skills i was taught. "for reference i can later post pics of a couple of things that i have done" i am not a professional, but i am some what of a perfectionist and will treat each job as if it were my own.. i am not a shop, and this is not some retail advertisement, this is all out of my garage. shit, if this was a shop i'd be posting shop prices...lol

* i usually don't get on-line until after 5pm *

"after the 1st job, i really got to see in materials what was needed. after i added everything up my profit was only $70. I'm probably going to boost the price up enough to where id be making $100 profit. even at the new price it'll steal be a bargain, compared to what a shop would charge you! (like double)
i can live with making only a c note off each job. its a lot of work and i want to continue to offer this to the Zilvia family."

"prices are set so please dont ask for a better deal, sorry.."

suede prices

-glove box door $40
-door panel inserts $90
-headliner $100
-dye visors $15 "to match the headliner"

total $245

material info:
this is automotive suede not suede hide the price differance is very big and this is easier to work with. the material color is rated to last a little over a year in the sun. so it would probably be good to tint the windows alittle.
" i can also use other materials upon request.. "

let me know, thanks
ronnie.

OK, peoples. i did some shopping and got quotes from a few shops, and for what I'm offering the prices ranged from 400-500. i even called my uncle, and he quoted me, a "nephew" price of $360. so in deed you are getting hooked up. "damn, i should of asked for more!" oh, well.

as far as "raceing" seats go, the only thing i can offer, is that i can rap the center cushion of the seats in new material. but there wont be any stitching..

i live in pico rivera, ca 90660.

thanks,
Ronnie.

Thanks Ronnie. Glove box looks even better when installed. Gonna sand that handle and paint it a matching black.

I can definitely vouch for Ronnie. Dude does great work and is very honest about the work he's doing. Currently Ronnie is working on both door panels and my headliner. Oh, and I'll be sure to take some pictures of my glovebox so folks can get an idea how the Onyx suede looks.

Hopefully all is going well with my stuff. Ronnie, remember take your time, no rush dude. :D

Ronnie, that looks freakin' sick. Big thanks again! I'm so hoping the rain isn't poring as much or at all so I can pick these up and get you installed pix.

Definitely gonna be dropping your name each time someone comments the interior, and I know they will. Start planning your business cards kid! :D

I'm just curious, can you rewrap a steering wheel?

do you have all the templates, like if i order i dont have to send you my doors n stuff, all I have to do is stick it on my doors etc...

+1 on precut door inserts. I would be interested since I live in Florida.

+2 on this. I'm sure much of the final outcome is the install, but if you can ship pre-cut inserts that would be baller.

rongfk
12-19-2007, 05:43 PM
i haven't made any templates yet, because the demand isn't as much as i thought it would be. the pre cuts are possible to make to ship out, but if you dont know how to work the material in the corners and dips, then you will fail and waste the material. (which is very easy to do) it's not as easy as it seems.
for those of you who are out of state or are unable to bring your stuff to me, pm me with your pre-cut needs. i should be able to work something out for you. as for payment options, i accept pay pal and money orders, but i wont start the pre-cutting until the money is received.

thanks Ronnie.

How much does it cost to ship a headliner and who would you ship it through? Also would you re-wrap a steering wheel in suede (real suede)?

How thick is the suede, and is there any kind of backing to it. Do you wrap using spray glue.....I think if I took it to a fabric shop and said "put this on" it could be done, then again time and patience could work out as well. If you are willing to cut templates and ship I am willing to work with the fabric.

what would be a price on doing a headliner and pillars?

I allready have micro suede, its like, an artificial suede...

what do you think about that material?

#1 post: i don't have a sewing machine, so i cant do seats, sorry. but i can repair (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=167934#) the foam on your worn out seats.

#12: as far as "raceing" seats go, the only thing i can offer, is that i can rap the center cushion of the seats in new material. but there wont be any stitching..

sorry guys, this means: no carpet, seats, or dashes.
