ok i'm fixing my 92 koop(check out my sig for my site)
it was in an accident, where there was only body damage.
i got it totaled my both insurance companies. The other guys ins. is stroking the check, but still debating with my lawyer on how much to give. over 3500 hopefully. i got my car estimated at a friends body shop today(he does insurance work for major dealership in the area, andis very reputable) i asked him to quote me a price to replace the drivers rocker panel, new door replace the drivers window(front and rear) and all body work and prime the car for me. he told me since i've brought him a lot of business 2500 and he'll paint it for me with the factory nissan paint for free. i am soooooooo happy! i still gotta convince my dad, even though i'm 18 the car is mine, and it's my money.. but i want my dad's blessing since he helps me with lots of things. and also we were planning on getting a loan and buying an s14a this march.. but i like this idea better.well tell me what yall think?... i can;t wait to get here back on the road
p.s. i drove her today for the frist time in over a month.. wow!!!!!!!!!!! i'm in love all over again

s14a's are coupes too.. agreed tho, the S13 Silvia looks better than the 180sx... as far as 240sx's im not sure.... the popups fit on the HB, but they don't on the coupe. I've never been a fan of HB's, especially the S13, because its not at a right angle, it bows up in the middle like a bubble.

Lets see, ~$11,000 for a 97-98 s14
or $2500 for a 93 s13 coupe + $8500 in mods.

Your right man, that IS tough.

I was going by his current mods... it doesn't look like hes made of money. It seems that he doesn't have the disposable income to buy a S14a with cold hard cash. So he would finance it. Granted he could get a loan for the mods, but he doesn't have enough credit to do that, he would have to use his parents, and I'd say that most responsible parents (and from what hes said about his dad, he seems like a responsible kind of guy) wouldn't loan their kids 8500$ to modify their car, when they'll never see the money again. Also keep in mind that the interest rate on a secured loan such as a car is much lower than a unsecured loan that you would get for mods. So using logic I'd say hes gonna have the option of a s14a with minimal mods as he can afford them, and a car payment, OR he'll get his S13 back fixed and a 1000$ in his pockets for mods or whatever. for 2500$ hes more than likely gonna get bondo, and the paint will probably not match like stock... so for me, it seemed only logical to get a s14a.. obviosuly coastek has a tie to his car.. but oh well

CoasTek, what are your options? If you get the S14a will you have to make payments, or are your parents paying for it? If you keep your coupe, will you get 8500$ to mod it? I honestly wasn't trying to get anyone upset with my post, i have a genuine interest in CoasTek's decision about his car situation?

not me, i dont care what you do 'coasty', and further more i'm not to thrilled with all your homosexual tendency's either, i mean experimenting is fine, but repeated violations are not only unnessecary, but entirely unwarranted, especially on unsuspecting children.

anyways.... you say you bought your sr through heavy throttle??? how were they to deal with???

i am gonna get another 240 just after christmas when cars is cheap, btu i cant decide what i want more. a nice 91+ s13 with the KA24DE, and the 7 spokes and the newer front end. and then put a few $$$ into the KA but stay NA.

that would likely set me back about $5500 ish in ontario. + a few bucks for the CAI, header, etc

or pick up an 89-90 for $2500 ish with a solid frame, high km's etc. and do an sr swap for about $4000+

now keep in mind the car must be a coupe with HUD. And whats more is that i stil have my coupe and a 5 week old suspension, both strut bars and the N1 dual, mint interior blah blah blah.

only thing is that i dont know any reputable sr importers in ontario. and i want to have the entire thing handled by the same guys (shipping and install) to avoid additional complications. heavy throttle is an easy drive but about 5+ hours or so.

well I got the car checked out and totalled by both ins. companies. I was not a fault, but i was under advisement(probation) until march 10th. so my dad bought a 200sx for my lil bro who's 14 and i was able to drive that to work and school. i was planning an taking out a loan(b/c i have very good credit just so u know) and i was going to buy and s14a and make payments. But recently i was talking to a guy who runs a local body shop round here, and he was mentioning that i should fix the car. He is doing it as a personal favor b/c i have brougth him a lot of business.(the car really isn't as bad as every1 thinks it is) He's re-welding a new rocker panel, and the rear section of the unibody on. then getting a new door and frotn an rear window, adn painting the whole car with factory nissan paint and clear coat, using the paint code for 2500. i will be getting anywhere from 3500-4500 from insurance. and with that $ i'm buying zeal coilovers. then in march my dad is making my take out a loan(to teach me responcibility in payments, and build my credit) for $5K i will need to pay my dad back for some books for college, then the rest goes towards nsport turbo kit, hardening internals.
btw i don't have a prob with you loren... but u can be a bit harsh with people sometimes.

Bing.. nice to hear from ya again! well yeah i got my Sr from heavy throttle. yuri's a good guy. there engines are nice. i never had a chance to fire her up. i only had her at my house for 1 week then shipped her up to my friends house to get ready for the swap. then i got in an accident adn sold the engine for what I bought it for minus the shipping.but yeah pm me for more info i won't post all the details

ok well i've decided not to fix the Koop now. dont get on my case for not being indecisive. i figure the risk is too much. I also got a letter from my lawyer today stating i may be getting more than i thought for the accident, and i'm gonna try an part out my car to it's fullest.. check the group buy section. well i'm trying to buy an s14 now.. i'm going to be taking out a loan to cover the rest b/c i really want a ncie one.. not abused, really clean and pref. SE well give me a heads up of u see any good ones for sale.. later
