To anyone with an S14, do you guys get a rattling noise on the ceiling of your car? I get it especially when the road is bumpy. If you do, how do you stop it from doing that? I'm on the verge of opening it up and taping everything to each other, but I might break something in the process!
Its the plastic part with the sunroof controls and your front inner light. I dono how to stop it.

Has anyone sloved this problem yet?
I too have it, but I'm dealing with the
"mystery rattle in the middle of the dash" atm.
I know it's from Jan, but yenpit did you ever look into it?

Wow, did somebody actually use the search??? I'm impressed. Anyway, my roof liner rattles but it comes from the back. Drives me nuts but I don't know what I could do about it unless I took off the whole damn liner.

When I got my car, there was a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the back part of the headliner, but upon further inspection I found out that it was actually the trunk...which I found is a problem with a lot of nissans. The only noise I have right now is the front speakers..they're shot and buzz and pop all of time. I've never had any trouble with the sunroof...but I'd just slide the glass back and look inside and move parts around...that's how I found the trunk rattle.

Try checking your trunk. A lot of the time in the S14 the rattling is coming from the trunk not being fully closed. The striker needs to be brought down a little bit (The striker is the latch portion inside the trunk, not the portion that is on the trunk lid. It takes I believe a 10mm socket. Try moving it down a little bit and see if you trunk closes solid (I.E. it should not rattle a little when you close it). But, be careful not to move it down too far that the lights no longer line up. To move it down, you might need to file down the section in the trunk a little to get a little extra room to move the striker down. Once you do this, the rattling should be taken care of.

Sorry i'm going to revive this thread. I also have a rattle/buzz next to my windshield. I believe it is the headliner where the passenger side sun visor is. I think it is the headliner rattling against the window, as it has a little bit of a gap between it and the window. I was thinking of using some double sided tape, but I don't want to stretch the headliner gap anymore, have any of you guys fixed this rattle?:wiggle:

The only noise I get from my s14 is when I have the sun roof open and the diffuser that pops up bobbles up and down. But for some reason it stopped... If that's what you're hearing you could buy a new spring for it from nissan for like $9 iirc.
