Yes you can put your KA hicas pump on the SR. I've done it on my '91 HICAS 240 with a '93 SR. The issue is that the alternator sits ridiculously close to the HICAS lines on the frame rail. After a good hard launch the engine cranked over and popped one of the HICAS lines causing my PS to go out. I replaced the section of hard line with a soft line that I had fabbed up at a HVAC shop that specialized in high pressure lines. Another problem that I had was that the bracket that attaches the KA pump to the SR could only be attached with two bolts. This caused a slight mis-alignment in the belt and I went through belts every 4K miles.

I would say to take measurements very carefully and have a bracket made that will accept the pump and align the belt correctly. After I had the bracket made all was well in the world

Edit: Another option is to source a SR hicas pump and get some lines fabbed up to connect it.

im swaping in the SR20DET into the KA24DE wich the KA has hicas and the SR20DET is not HICAS.

i want to know if theres a way to custom the SR20DET pump to fit the KA HICAS pump..?

What you said makes no sense to me. So am I understanding this correctly: You are swapping a SR into your s13 and you want to keep the HICAS?

Yes / No (circle one)

If you want to find a way to make the SR pump work the HICAS there isn't a way to do it. The HICAS pump has an additional port for the lines running to the back of the car. You will either need a SR HICAS Power steering pump or you need to make your KA pump fit on the SR block.

Other then that you can buy a HICAS eliminator bar for JWT and run the standard SR pump.

I would suggest just deleting hicas.
Use the SR power steering pump. get a non-hicas rear subframe.
That is exactly what I did.

alright well just add this for anyone searching this

my car is hicas we just put the regular NON-hicas pump and the resevoir
we just left the hoses going to rear "hicas" loose.
im just saving up to get a hicas cancelation bar.

car runs fine for me :0

If you wanted to keep the HICAS you should have just made a custom bracket. I am sure you might be able to combine the SR and KA brackets in some way to work, and obvious with some fabbing by yourself. Try it out, you could be one of the few if not the only one. BTW SRs dont have HICAS in anyway right? It was just an american thing.

yeah we were gona do that
but....

the pully on the HICAS pump was all bent and i didnt feel like bothering with it so just trew in the regular PS pump in works fine
i dont need HICAS anyways..:ugh:

and my ABS does not work no more since the SR ECU did not have ABS,, owell

I wouldn't drive that way as the HICAS unit may start to drift as you go around corners. Creating a bad toe condition. Get that HICAS eliminator stat.

hey sorry but I been searching for a while and was wondering what is the difference betwen HICAS and Super HICAS??? I hurd that one of them (don't know which one or if its both) are/is ALL WHEEL STEERING. Can someone tell me, and I hurd most people get rid of the all wheel steering because it is dangerous at high speeds and can cause you to be at the wrong place, basicly it's bad for DRIFTING. Please correct me if i am wrong because I want to drift and my car is a 92 240sx and on it says hicas. IS HICAS ALL WHEEL STEERING AND IS IT BAD FOR DRIFTING?
