how about, lay off JPM and diss ABC's terrible coverage.. OK They seemed to show what was happening in 16th place more than up front, plus they cut in and out way too much, not to mention it being fuzzy and blacking out. One positive thing was the tach they occasionally showed, as well as the amount of fuel.

up front? ive seen bingo matches more exciting than what was going on in the top 3. It was a prancing horse show, from start to finish. hell, third was about 10 seconds out.

on my tv, speed was playing some jet ski racing at the begining of the USGP.. I just saw way too much coverage of Sato.. and why, he sucks?

As for knocking JPM, watch the race closely again. I thought the same thing when I first saw it, but JPM did not make the mistake. It was actually Ralf that caused the collision by getting on the throttle too early. The way turns 1 and 2 work is that if you are even in Turn 1, then the outside car has the advantage in Turn 2. Montoya got a great draft off of RS and got side-by-side with him into Turn 1. Ralf, knowing that he had to get IN FRONT of Montoya in order to shut the door in Turn 2 got on the gas too early and spun his car into Montoya's. The only way to take off the rear wing without damaging the rest of the car is that Ralf's car had to have spun before the impact. Montoya left him PLENTY of room if you look at it from the front angle (replay) and did a great job of not getting speared by Ralf. I can almost guarantee you that any other driver on the grid would have conceded that position except for Ralf, because of their overly competitive relationship at Williams BMW.

I went to the last 2 USGPs. A lot of fun. Probably won't go again unless I get paddock passes.

Also the television rights to F1 are controlled by one company so there is only one film crew at each race. You would not have seen anything else (unless you lived in Europe and purchased the expensive satellite package that lets you do all sorts of crazy stuff like watch from any incar cam you want). The commentators are at the mercy of the tv producer as to what they (and the public) see and get to talk about. Even if it was on Speed, then it was either an ABC rebroadcast or Speed commentators over the ABC footage.
