biggy up!

i'm in the process of swapping out my rear uprights on my s14 for the uprights/drum brake setup/hubs from an infiniti J30. i plan on using 300zx rotors and calipers on that setup as well. from what i could find on zilvia, i'm assuming that i'll have to use the J30 lower and upper control arms instead of the stock s14 arms.

currently i have the tanabe RUCA's and plan to replace the traction and toe rods with aftermarket ones as well. does anyone have any first hand experience with using aftermarket toe and traction rods designed for the s14 chassis, but with the j30 uprights? i'd hate to invest in all new rods and arms and not to have them fit. hope that made sense.

thanks in advance!

Use the S14 stuff, it all works fine. The J30 upright is identical in design and placement except for the bearing/hub design being pressed instead of bolted.
The traction and toe arms are the exact same (and the same as S13, S15, Q45, and Z32) and the camber arm is half hooped just like the S14, but it's cast steel instead of stamped/welded like the other models. The J30 rear rotor is the same as the Z32/R32 so you can use it with Z32 calipers, the ebrake is the same design as well but obviously the cables are different since it's a much longer car.

ps

one more question:

does the j30 share the same drum brake shoes as the z32?

thanks again

^^^ according to Russ, the ebrake system is the same (except for the cables). The "drum brake" is the ebrake, so yeah. Looks like it does.

Correct, it works the same and the shoe size is the same. I believe there's a few different parts, but if you have the whole assembly it works just like the Z32 does.
