Since I learned I have to move, my plans for a KAAZ have been shelved. I've scoured the local junkyards for a VLSD for a couple weeks now and have come up empty handed. Internet searches have been useless too, which is suprising since you'd think people would be selling them all over the place. I heard about the Phantom Grip a while ago but dismissed it as junk. I guess it uses steel blocks and springs to jam the gears against the case, which sounds kinda scary, but I guess the theory is sound. I doubt it works near as well as a "real" LSD, but is probably better than a VLSD. At $350 it's damn tempting and available now instead of waiting months for a VLSD to pop up on e-bay. What do you guys think?

it's not as good as a VLSD. it's been said they are only good in quarter mile racing and that it would create more understeer for daily driving.

If you're at the edge of traction in daily driving... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

The only reason you'd see more understeer is the simple fact that both rear wheels will have grip! Same as any other LSD.

They do work, and rather well.
