i know its not much... but as you can tell i am a new and excited driver of a ka-t. :)

t25 with hks actuator
ssac manifold (i know... it sucks)
hks downpipe
3 inch straight pipe (cat delete)
370 cc injectors
n60 maf
sr smic
on a very brave ka24de

as of now i only have the safc2 but will be getting aem uego soon. i am hoping to finish fine tuning for the just drift event on dec 15 and 16.

i would like to share some pics of my build. hope you guys like it.

gj,
i would move that oil line up top,
so u have more slope,
in the pics it seems like it goes under the fitting then to the side

fix that return

ryster
12-01-2007, 02:38 AM
yeah i know... it took forever to finish. lol!

so should i move the oil return line from turbo to go over the engine mounts then to oil pan? i tried going through the engine mount but there were kinks in the line.

Nice. Welcome to the world of ka-t.

You might want to upgrade that smic later down the line cause that intercooler core is mass small and heatsoaks really fast.

Yeah, try running it over the whole mount if possible. You want it to slope down.

Are you using a SR intake too?

u dint have to cut your cold pipe?

i think if you run ac u cant run oil line on top.

the return line is tricky. Take your time with it because I blew one of my T25's due to a bad return line routing.
I used a 90 degree elbow on the oil bung on the oil pan and just made a short hose that went over the motor mount. It has a TINY kink in it but oil still flowed out effortlessly.

thanks for the compliments guys! fixed the oil return line today, it would flow down better now.

i didn't paint the piping, i just cleaned it. i also didnt cut the cold pipe i just made my own couplings to make it reach the intake manifold.

cant wait to try it out...

How was the fitment of the stock dump pipe, did it run very close to the engine/tranny did you have to shave anything?

yeah i had some issues with it. it was rubbing the tranny bell housing but i didnt have to shave.

what did you fill your engine mounts with? it doesn't look like urethane...it looks like that "great stuff" foam shit you can get from home depot.

very nice build tho, i love seeing fresh red liquid gasket lol

so basically this is a KA with SR shit on it?
I've been thinking about building a low buck KA like this for a while.

OEM rebuild
SR injectors
SR T25/Z31 VG30ET T3
ebay manifold/intercooler/downpipe
Z32 MAF and fuel pump...

what kind of results could I see with a setup like this? 200rwhp?
and what would be recommended as a cheap fuel/spark mgmt. option?

Git 'er done. Only 5 days left. And get a larger radiator when you get the funds. When spring comes around, you're going to need it.

12-10-2007, 11:16 PM
oh... its done! im gonna tune it tomorrow so my engine doesnt go bye bye on saturday. i'll post dyno results asap. cant wait to try it out.

are you using the silvia smic and piping? does the piping bolt right up or did you modify it?

Water Lines?

ryster
12-11-2007, 12:00 AM
yeah i used sr smic, just massaged it to make it work. and no water lines.

beetlejuice
12-11-2007, 01:40 PM
There have been issues with ka-t guys running the t25 without water lines. The center section of the turbo gets so hot that they are having oil feed line failures.

check ka-t.org for info.

Good luck with your car.

mizizax
12-11-2007, 01:49 PM
im ka-t and i just left the water lines open

i was gonna suggest changing your return but hopfully by now youve fixed it,

id also recomend moving your sparkplug wires to go along the valve cover, mine drooped and melted on my mani and misfires + turbo motors = not fun

just a heads up

Nice build man! I just had my motor out and couldn't get it that clean :). Definitely post some Dyno numbers soon. I've tried to piece together this same kit for my rebuilt KA for some time now, but a tiny budget and expensive hobby don't mix too well :( . But good luck with the remainder of your upgrades!

how does it run with only the SAFC2?

statik
12-11-2007, 03:15 PM
how does it run with only the SAFC2?

because you can slap a turbo on any car as long as it all fits, he only had to adjust for the injectors/maf which is what an SAFC is made for.

I have the exact same setup to the T, except with a tuned ECU, but not installed yet. Where did you get the pipe you used to get the intercooler piping to the throttle body?
