View Full Version : drive shaft center bolt removal

ok soooo... the center piece for the drive shaft where the bearing is and the rubber piece that goes around it is all jacked to hell... we need to remove it from the first half of the shaft... but there is a 27mm bolt holding it on there... but if u look closely the bolt has a lil indentation in a hole to prevent it from being removed... any ideas as to how to remove it.. or if its a special tool? or am i shafted and just need to buy that whole piece? its a 91 s13 5 spd with a stock ka.... thanks in advance

Impact. The indent is designed to lock the nut in place since it's on a rotating assembly. Same thing you'll see on the spindle.

yea dude...if you cant break them free...take it to a shop that has a large compressor with some balls to it. if 800 ft lbs cant break them free..they shouldnt be moving. (most of the time....lol)
