Yeah there's' one to my car... But then again who the hell sit in the middle of spot where people are exiting a turn stop and out of freaking gear... If it wasn't wet I probably would of turned out of the way but RT-615 aren't the best in the rain.

I didn't see any accidents in North Carolina today. I guess the rain storm didn't stretch this far.

my rear end just kept on wanting to brake loose, moving side to side... i definately need new tires.

i was on the 405 north heading to huntington beach from irvine. saw an accident some sort of truck and is350 or 250, not sure, fucked up on the 405 south. about 2-3 miles north of that accident, another major accident.

11-30-2007, 05:52 PM
...because of rain?

Yeah because drivers here don't know how to drive in rain and either drive really, really, really slow...

Or they drive like normal and are idiots, and that's when there are crashes.

I can see that. I just recently moved here and its pouring, and for some reason I hydroplane all over the place. Never had that prob in VA. Guess it has something to do with the roads. ITs exciting. Bet it scares the shit outta the drivers around me. Guess learning to drift has its uses in the real world.

I saw one bad one on the 110

Then saw one camero stuck in the grass off to the side at the on ramp

I got a little tiny tiny sideways in the f450 flatbed I was driving. No grip on the front tires at all. Not fun.

Then on the way home a mustang was stuck in the ditch flipped at the on ramp on the 605.

I drove all day and it was just such a shitty day.

I left my 325's trunk open and my brother's car's windows down. Woke up to pouring rain and had to close it all up. No one tells me about rain.

On the 12 mile drive home, I saw one pickup that had spun off the road and down an embankment and three cars that had spun into the median and impacted the guard rail.

Add rain to California's already suicidal drivers and it's a recipe for disaster.

the weird thing i've noticed about california is that everyone who shouldnt be allowed to operate a vehicle... operates a vehicle when ever it rains. they all come out and go to walmart. seriously, when i worked at walmart our busiest days were when it would rain.

its like how worms surface when it rains. same thing with stupid people in california. i dont get it.

worm:
"say kids, lets go to walmart... oh darn is this the exit already? here i'll do a 'california merge' in front of this semi... he'll be able to stop. no problem."

sad.

The rain wasn't too bad, imo. Didn't see any crashes on the 78 and the 15.

I don't see what all the fuss is about for 2ways... my car didn't kick out today unless I wanted it to.

11-30-2007, 11:58 PM
lol, socal ppl suck.

Rain isnt even worth a thread in the east.

I could drive all day and not see a crash.

The rivers could overflow and the rain could go for days.

People here would go on as life.

Snow barely slows ppl down, if its less than three inches, you wont see a crash for mile.

I was on the 105 freeway and this dude speeds past me in his infinite Honda wisdom. Saw him try to pass another car, lose control and hit the wall inside the carpool lane.

Another one bites the dust.

you know who pisses me off? old people. my god. they drive slow enough when its not raining but when it rains..my rage just builds up.

couple months ago i was at a red light, truck next to me was waiting to merge onto the freeway on ramp and ERRRRRRRRR!!!BAM!!! this old lady in a boat of a caddy smashed into the back of the truck. rolled the window down and busted up laughing.

i unno man, cali people + rain/no rain doesn't mix.

i think i told this story before but...

one of the first times it rained this year in norcal, i got rear ended at a stop light and i was at a complete stop so inertia wasn't in my favor. guy drove off, chased him down while calling cops, beat him down, cops got there and got a police report.

my insurance check should be in the mail this week.

love it.

I got stuck going uphill last night.

Rear wouldn't grab worth a shit, so I had to roll down in reverse and take the long way.

Haha.

This morning my Gf was driving up the on-ramp and the rear started to slide.Amazingly she didnt slam on the brakes or oversteer instead she eased on the throttle and just brought it back:D I knew teaching her to drive wasnt a waste.

I got an LSD just so my car would behave reasonably in the rain...open diff, stretched tires and stiff coilovers=interesting :loco: wet weather drive:ugh:

Still havent installed it yet:keke: hahaha.

Loosing the rear end of my S14 at 60mph on the interstate merge ramp sucks...keeping it from slamming into the wall was breath taking(I nearly had a heart attack)...

open diffs in the rain just push the car around, its ill advised with other vehicles, bystanders, or large objects to hit...

It was fairly recent, I would say about 2 weeks ago.. Saw a mustang slide on an on ramp to 80-W, ended up stuck on a embankment... Dunno if it was intentional or not, but it was pretty funny

terrain is different.

our sewers overflow and streets are filled high with water. i drove the miata the other day and felt like a submarine in some parts of sunvalley (had to pickup parts from the scrapper).

we have a ton of oil on our streets which surfaces, making any tire extremely slippery.

but besides that, girls in socal tend to drive like shit and guys have vaginas out here, which pretty much makes it a 90% female society. they say women are safer drivers, well, if you're curious... come to socal and check it out. bunch of idiots driving around here...

old s13 makes a good point

the most dangerous time when it rains is right when it starts, because the slick crap hasn't washed off the street

out here in the northeast, it rains all the time.
in ca... imagine if that shit builds up for weeks and then it rains once in a blue moon. add inexperience to that... people will be sliding all over the street.

on the freeway i was hydro planing on every little flood and i was letting it cruise, then a car in front of me was hitting the breaks and i nearly was like 3 inch away from his back bumber uhhh. dunt you kno if you hit the break in the flood you car and lose control!! geez well lucky for me i got away and got to work... when i got to work i had a blast sliding around the pole with my welded diff!

I saw about 3.

One going 60W with a truck, another 10E car rear ended truck (bumper and the trunk bed was about a foot apart from each other), and another one at Lamb's Canyon (Beaumont, CA) with an SUV flipped over (I hope everyone was ok). It's sad when u think about it and how much ppl can't drive.

Yeah that was a long day of driving...

As for Arizona,,, When I was goin to school in Phoenix, it rained twice the whole time. People everywhere were like a deer in headlights. It doesn't help that out there they coat the roads with shit to help keep them from breaking down due to the constant hardcore sunning they get.
Then add 8-10 months of oil drips and boy is it fun to drive.

And of course drainage there was a pile of shit, so there would be whole parking lots full of water 2-3 feet deep for days. My truck was never so clean after having so much fun, lol.
