View Full Version : The fat rubber and wheel fitment whore thread

So here's the thing.

I've noticed that the whore thread is very anti anything intelligent :loco:

Apparently 215/40/17 tires on a 9" wheel is normal running -1000 amounts of camber front and rear... while scraping frame rails against the septic lands down below.

So here's the thing, anyone with 8.5"/9" wheels with 255/265 rubber, 9.5"/10" wheels with 265/275/285 rubber, heck even 8" with 235/245 rubber... and not insanely low offsets (if possible) but proper grip oriented/track oriented 'flush' fit... post pics! 3xx rubber on 11" and 12" wheels, stuff like that.

Why not?

The other thread if you don't have 100mm spacers, -1000 camber, -100 offset, 4" lowered, rubbing frame rails, bicycle rubber on monster truck wheels possibly dipped in a can of gello delicio shiny chrome milk, scrubbed rims due to the stretch and contact with fenders and curbs, etc.. you're not cool and get negged. So lets do the opposite thing...

It will help people who actually want to fit maximum rubber and wheel width with performance in mind (eg; proper fitment not 215 on 9" or 265 on 11"/12"/13" etc...)

MAKE SURE that you are not interested in what was mentioned as negative above from the other thread, if you want to bitch and neg rep me for that or something, move your ass to the other whore fitment thread

Make sure to include your car spec, s13/s14, wheel spec (brand, model, size, width, offset), if any spacers are used and tire size, width, profile, size, brand and model.

Oh and include pics :)

why do i get the feeling this is going to get locked.

clown, these cars are commonly used for drifting, and they look gay if they're not low with minimal wheel well gap.
the "negative 1000" camber allows the wheels to fit even lower into the wheel well, and tire stretching lets the wheel sit DEEPER and CLOSER to the fender well whic brings the wheel well and close to non existant. negative camber allows a car to handle better in turns and drifting.

so if you don't like it, hop in your 0 camber dragster and drive in a straight line, don't cry about the wheel whore fitment thread lol.

wow.. Ive never read anything that really made me want to post. Theres always a first for everything.. wide tires.. thats a concept that no one here seems to grasp.. good job. I dont have any pics yet but I have 285/30/18 on a 9.5" wheel.

running 255/35 on 9.5 front and 275/35/18 9.5 rear.

Stretching is cool and all that shit, but handling is pure ass on stretched tires IMO. I know cause i've also ran 3 or 4 sets of stretched tires...

I think tire stretching and humongous wheels and slammed rides with a gajillion -1000 camber is the new civic rice...

I know I'm gona get negged unfortunately by the 'hardcore drifters'/'cool' people but hey :)

I hope aceinthehole doesn't mind me posting his car's pics:

Hopefully this will change people's mind away from the drift craze and the civic like rice trend of insane tire stretching and rubbing framerails that visit the septic system and speak to the asphalt from time to time...

I love his car hehe...

nice. wide tires FTW. I don't have anything too fantastic. Running 235 rear and 225 front on 17x8.5. But no ridiculous stretch for me :bigok:

blah blah blah, I hate stretched tires

So...is the point of this thread to post pics of 240s with fat rubber, or to bitch about stretched tires and negative camber? Because if it's the latter (and it looks like it is), realize that you're on a forum full of drifters (or wannabe drifters) and this is a fight you've pretty much already lost by default.

My tires aren't stretched and I don't much care one way or another...I'm just sayin'.

You know, if you weren't being a stupid fuck about this, I wouldn't care.

Your on a 240 forum, and not only asking for grip setups, which are pretty rare, your asking for them without your own examples of your own car, and trashing everyone elses.

I'm sorry you don't like stretched tires. wait a second, no I'm not, I don't give a shit. Aceinthehole's car is fucking sick, and most halfway decent people around here recognize that. What your doing is purposely starting an argument, thats whats retarded about this thread.

I hope this shit gets locked soon.

Simple, those that like the other thread can go to that thread and live their dreams and not bitch by neg repping me for it. Those that don't have that mindset and have this thread's mindset can post in here and share what they've got. Unfortunately I do not have fat rubber but I don't have stretched tires either :) I just have skyline gts rims on my car :P Although I am rebuilding my car from scratch again :) It's dusty and in storage right now :)

In the other thread anything non-stretched or non slammed or not 'flush' gets bombed with retarded comments and neg reps.

I'm being an ass because I got neg repped for starting this thread alone. Too many assholes who neg rep right away, look at the tire stretch thread, if anyone doesn't post something 'stretched enough' they get neg repped wtf is that? Gtfo and go to that thread.

So the point of this thread is to start a new trend, a sane trend... one where people do alot of work to make tire/wheel fitment superior, but not like the other thread that is all :)

I agree, don't hate on stretch, just run with what you started this thread as. Fat rubber is just another side of the 240 scene but everyone can agree no matter what you do with your 240 its up to the challenge. Stretch is awesome for some things, and its not just for hard parking but we all know that people who auto-x need some more grip than that. Don't make this a competitative thread, just share what you got and others who agree with you will too

he's going to be neg repped for being a douchebag.

There is nothing wrong with non stretched tires and grip setups, I'm all for it. But don't come in on the offensive purposely trying to be an instigator and being insulting.

Two things:

A) I didn't neg rep you, that was probably everyone else who thinks you're a faggot.
B) You apparently wrote me off as a 16-year old dorifto fanboy and didn't read my post.

My tires aren't stretched...

"chrome n delicious, I got rims n I'm so fly..." My wheels aren't chrome, and $400 16s sure aren't "fly."
"stretched tires..." Please see above.
"I got coilovers..." Actually, no. I'm on Eibach springs and AGX shocks because I can't afford that shit.

Guess what? The whole STRETCHED TIRES OR GO HOME thing irritates me too. But I don't go being a faggot about it and starting threads designed to start a shitstorm under the guise of "post some pictures."

you got neg repped because look at your original post.

It's just trying to piss people off, including me.

I don't give a shit if you like my car, but I would expect respect for the work that was put in to getting it to that state, just like I would respect someone who put in similar work to get the result they are looking for.

Alright, so no more arguing :) I guess I shouldn't get worked up over some people bitching at me for starting this thread.

Let's simplify, those who like the stretch thread go to the stretch thread :)

The initial post 'offended' the stretcher crew, because apparently it's hard for them to realize there are others who don't like the stretch 'look'.. so i get massive bitching for it. Guess what? Everyone gets neg repped for posting non-stretched or what is 'considered' non-stretched in the stretched thread.

Those who don't like stretch and want to contribute to this thread do it here :)

Those who are hating this thread because its anti-stretch can go to the stretch thread, which is very anti-anti-stretch.

Peace :) Alright? Lets love one another, it's a 240 forum, yes, but lets try something different for a change. The stretch whore thread is so damn big... lol. It makes 240s indifferent to the civics of the late 90s... to each their own oh well.

While the idea of this Thread was a decent idea, the way you presented it was pure crap.

I understand the other thread may have upset you, but you starting this thread and complaining about it didn't help any. If you could have approached this in a mature fashion perhaps I may have left it open.

Instead, you sound whiney and ignorant and this Thread is closed.
