I don’t which way to go… I can ether go one of 2 ways. Option 1: im thinking about getting a power fc for my 13 blacktop but I’m not to sure I can find anyone to tune it for me. Option 2: send my ecu to be tuned by empathy. The only problem with that is that to get my ecu tuned it cost a few less hundred bucks then the power fc. And I would rather have the power fc. Any opinions?

Oh and how much hp am I looking at with this set up:

Sr20det blacktop
Stock bottom end
Sard fpr
Walbro fuel pump
Sard 650cc top feed injectors
Freddy intake manifold
Q45 throttle body
Top mount tubular exhaust manifold
T3 turbonectics turbo
3’’ down pipe and 3’’ apexi exhaust

Thanx guys

did you mean enthalpy

why would you rather have a power fc than a rom tune

if i had the cash to go standalone, i DEF would. i'm pretty sure you can contact Apexi to find an authorized tuner in your region.

you should probably contact steve_shadows, he seems to know his shit when it comes to standalones, i believe that is his name on zilvia.

lol yeah sorry (stupid spell check)

cuz its more freedom.. if i ever wanna changed my set up of up grade i wont have to send out the ecu and have it re-flashed. i also like the 2 setting thing and the option of switching between to settings

and plus

its baller

go standalone..save your money and do it right..besides if you decide to upgrade more in the future you already have a standalone no need to keep upgrading ecu's...your from nyc..come on bro there is too much people out here who does tuning..if you need info..pm me

if you have the choice standalone because you have the ability to change the tune later on if needed.

I'd rather have a good standalone and a stock engine then spend all my money on shit only to have it blow up due to a shitty rom tune.

for sure, no matter what you do when it comes to tuning: wideband, wideband, wideband

Yah suspension first cause that is what REALLY makes you go faster... why not try Nistune? I would have if I knew that there was a such thing around darn it....

What?? The PFC is a FULL STAND ALONE!!
....

anywho... get a pfc, tuning is not that hard. Just pick up a FC Datalogit and a wide band.

I sell them .... at TurboFabparts.com Email me.

No homie.... you take out your ECU and sell in on here for $125 when your done.... it does not piggyback anything.... Its a FULL standalone....
Where do you get this piggyback crap from??

"The Power FC proudly stands as A'PEXi's answer to the constraints and limitations associated with most piggy-back style fuel controllers. The Power FC is a complete, stand alone, total engine management system capable of handling virtually anything thrown in its path. From multiple point fuel and ignition control to VTEC engagement (Honda applications) and boost settings, the Power FC is capable of accommodating even the most demanding performance enthusiasts"

my bad i was mis informed

so power fc it is!! thanx guys

so anyways how much hp should i be looking at with the set up i posted above???

Power FC all the way if you can afford. Rom tune is a cheap temporary fix. Think about it, all enthalpy is giving is a base band rom tune. He cant "tune" your car since he doesnt have the car, all he got is the ECU. If you really want him to TUNE your car, take your car to him and let him romtune your ECU with the car on a dyno.

Itll all depend on the turbo. All you said is that its a Turbonetics T3, we have no clue what trim, compressor size, etc etc. Atleast 300 is a good bet...

Hey Shmiddy,

check out my setup, tuned with Power FC by a legit HKS Tuner in Calgary. I should have expected higher numbers but due to a leaky exhaust manifold, probably would have put in the 320whp range; good enough for the GT28RS aka the SPUD. I'd go with the Power FC! My next setup will be F-Con V Pro by HKS when i upgrade to a bigger turbo. 350-400whp+ application.

well my thoughts are this weather you go STD ALONE or ROM tune if it has a shitty tuner it will blow up thats a fact but enthalpy if you go to there site he dose tune standalone system there's a whole list and PFC is on it or hit up Evans-tuning i hread awesome stuff about both tuners but evans tunig is hardcore with standalone systems check there site out to

Evans-tuning.com

P.S when choosing a tuner be VERY careful the tune on your car is the heart and soul of your ride do your research carefully and ask around intil you feel satifed with your research

sorry for the spelling lolololol to lazy to spell check :naughty:

It's not that easy. AFR is just one tiny part of it. Most of the Japanese base maps on the power fc's people bring to my dyno are WAY WAY TOO Advanced and are in danger of blowing their engine if they use them. + A lot of local tuners who tune them on Dyno Jets are not able to really see the effect that timing makes on part throttle or low boost tuning (Because you can only do a flat full throttle pull on most dynojets).

My maps I have found some pretty awesome tricks and tests to make torque and fuel efficiency on Nissan motors all through the rev range in all throttle points, which is a lot more comprehensive.

AFR is just tuning for your pocket book (gas) and mixture.

Power and torque come from adjusting timing points in the map. This is a little more complicated and can only be tested (to see results) on a mechanical instrument that will measure power. Torque and Power will go up and up to a certain point with increased timing advance in the map on the EMS. Then their is a certain point where you lose power. That is where you are beginning to get dangerous with advance. You can only know this if you can systematically measure power and torque gains at the wheels etc.

Tuning by knock sensor is also not an end all because most Nissan knock sensors do not refresh very quickly and the number reading is a vague miss-interpretation of what is really going on in the cylinder. Drops in power tell you exactly what is going on in the cylinder.

Another service I am prepared to start offering is clandestine Power FC base map tunes.

Basically if you have a data logit or a find a friend that does I can sell you a dyno-tuned map (I have a lot of them for a lot of different set ups) and email it to you.

Then you just load it into the data logit while serial is connected hit, WRITE ALL and there you go, great start and good map in.

I was thinking of charging like 150 bucks via paypal for this service.

The maps can be slightly custom tailored to your setup. I can also have you mail your actual Power FC to me and we can do something similar and send it back to you.

There is no guarantee that is will be 100% perfect fit for your setup, but neither is an Enthalpy tune. + with the Power FC as an investment you will have a fully re-programmable unit with close loop boost control if you choose.

I will offer free unlimited email support to anyone who buys a map, as well as support with navigating and using the commander to make changes after the initial map is being used.

Cheers hope this helps.

Sounds like a good idea on the "email tune service". If you're starting from the preset base maps on a pfc, and have lots of mods, that $150 would be a great start, that would save you at least 2 hours of dyno time just getting it setup, not counting fine tuning which would still be needed. At most places, at least local to me they charge 125 per hour of tuning on the dyno. Sounds fair to me.
